How it is with Me Today

Cobalt blue waves randomly crashing

Into place: misplaced only by

The frigid claws of a snowstorm

Forming icicles like mythical cages

For unbridled zest

(Sometimes caught, sometimes forgotten)

The sea always pushes to escape

Roughly - Not only because it knows that it can

But because it knows that it should

Like a miniscule seed

Determinedly pushing its way

Out of the suffocating, gray concrete

Through the dirty, forgotten cracks

In order to face the first, frightening ray

Of sunlight

Amidst the smoky dust

Of city life

Pointed metropolitan buildings

Usher their way towards the heaven

Each one, hoping for a glimpse

Of perfection

But the Alice blue sky cannot

- will not -

Allow them to do so

Because the tower of Babel

Is not permitted within its height

(at least for today

The act of defiance

Is always a lesson learned

For humility to sow its way in)

But there is always tomorrow

When wispy clouds shall form, rub thunder

Scream lighting

Cry out torrents and torrents of

Floodwater rain

But chill calms down

To a warm drizzle

Like always…

(Because the heat from balmy grains of sand

Will never go away).

(A/N: I appreciated any sort of feedback.
