Imagine this ended tomorrow

Imagine you woke up in an empty bed

Please remember me like breathing

Like an infinite image

Imagine we had no goodbyes

Where the curves hug the world

Imagine we didn’t fit

And stop me from collapsing

Like the sidewalk sinking into surfaces

And surfaces sinking into distance

Imagine if this was distance

Blue with an everlasting echo

And the broken reflections beaming from the mirrors

became the person we’ve imagined

Remember me like breathing

Like the fingers intertwined

Like the broken fingers in the grass

Imagine me on side streets

In short skirts

Imagine me forever by your side

And remember me like breathing

Like this is love and we tried too hard

Imagine all of this not working

Unrecognizable burst into flames

Like the carwreck of the century

And we could say this mattered

Imagine you never knew me

Or anything like me

Like the world and all its traffic lights turned red

Like the words didn’t spell themselves out

And remember me like breathing

Imagine me as beautiful

As a never ending laughter

Like the butterflies in your stomach

Like the weakness in your knees

Imagine me as love

And remember me like breathing
