I walk in the moonlight

The cemetery lit bright

Thousands of candles, all alight

My heart beats loud, in fright

And thick fog obscured my sight

During my moonlit walk on All Hallows' Eve

I saw a soldier's tomb

There was a flag on the grave

And it really makes one wonder

How many lives did he save?

Did this man act

As a true warrior should behave?

My mind was left wondering what to believe

During my moonlit walk on All Hallows' Eve

There was a murderer's grave

His tombstone said

"This man was hung

By the neck, until dead"

And I frowned a bit

As this epitaph, I read

It seemed so wrong

To bury a saint with a sinner

Like congratulating the loser

And leaving alone the winner

Like laughter for the crying man

And tear drops for the grinner

And I see how all of them decieve

My mind's still unsure of what to believe

During my moonlit walk on All Hallows' Eve

At the end of my walk

I finally reach the stone

For ever and ever

Marked as my own

And I sink back down

Into the ground, alone

To await my next moonlit walk on All Hallows' Eve
