(in the eyes of a medieval knight)
Stone fields and swift mechanical contraptions,
artificial lights and music, a cacophony of noises mixing,
a deadly battle day in and day out;
the natives call it "traffic."
Hot pink, bright yellow lights (neon! magic!)
signs beckoning
blocking,
receiving,
deceiving.
Tiny white devices plugged into the ears of the people
bobbing their heads and mouthing strange words,
strange often rhyming incantations.
Speaking into instruments emitting a tune or vibration
to which they answer
"hello?"
Tight garments on the women (dear lord they wear trousers!),
plastic women posing behind glass windows.
