Muse

A/N: Not my best. Not my worst.

“Now, class. I want you to write a creative writing piece. It can be about anything you want but please, no profanity.” Silence reigned in the room. But I knew what everyone was thinking. Pfft. No swearing? Like we’re not going to include that.

“You may begin.”

I’m sure that I’m disrupting everyone by tapping my piece of paper with the eraser end of my pencil, but I can’t think of anything to write. Oh…wait! I know what I’ll do!

It’ll be your classic horror story. A family moves into an (apparently) haunted mansion. At first, it seems like your normal curse-filled mansion is like the others, with blood dripping on walls and the unexplained movement of inanimate objects. But there’s a catch: there are others still residing within the walls of the mansion. No, not ghosts. In fact, these beings are still living, physically. It’ll be something involving barking chickens. But that’s all I’ve got for now.

Bending over my sheet of paper, I start to write furiously. And the rapid scratching of my pen is still annoying the class.
