A Dark Corner
By E.B. Keane-Farrell
I stood, a dark corner,
The pathway beaten down.
I look around;
Something’s amiss,
Something’s gone from away.
Over from the darkness came,
Drumming out a fearsome bellow.
Under command,
Mumbling prayers;
Beaten into submission.
I stood, a dark corner,
Amicably enjoying the bystanders.
My fear does not subside,
Causing panic to claw up.
Onto the wind I go,
Onto the stars I throw,
Lost in submission, missing confusion.
