Always surrounded by guardians

Always loved by someone nearby

Always protected from terrors outside

Always had a safe place to cry

Lord, Thou hath surrounded me all my life

I have grown strong - let me stand on my own

Send the guardians out to others

Let someone else feel the love Thou has shown

To the schizophrenic screaming at monsters unreal

To the violence victim shivering from memories dark

To the drug-tryer tempted with poisons so near

To the billions unto whom nightmares left their mark

Do not blame them if they turn away

From Thee, thou knowest the shadows that blind

Their true-sight, while they stumble

And the pain-gears of this world crush and grind

Let me always love them, and help them as much

As a mortal can. Please help me always be

A guardian as I have always had

Let me be for them what Thou art for me
