I see them watching me

Guessing my fantasies

Go on and keep guessing

The blood from a gun

Isn’t always from the natural touch

The eyes of the be-holder doesn’t really see that much

Looking pass all the chaos

It seems a life was lost

History always seems outnumbered

By its mistakes

Like the fish who were all drained from home

When the humans thought they could use that lake

Don’t you ever get tired from asking that question?

Here comes the teacher

Class is in session

Listen to what the teacher has to say

You’ll learn something if you pay attention each day

All lost in confusion

Trying to put it together

Failing at fusion

Don’t push us away

Says a wife who stays

At home with the kids Monday-through Sundays

This place is giving us a life

Says the dad getting ready to pull out his knife

I’d say you better treat her right

If it wasn’t for the fact she was taken by the light

Happiness is a lie

Happiness is a lie now darling (Lies, lies, lies)

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

So pulling out my gun with my finger on the trigger

What else is new?

Threaten the man with the multi-personalities

Who uses his scams hoping he’ll make some money real soon

He glares at me with a face that says un-trusted

One out hundreds of witness and victims isn’t enough to get this guy busted

The girl with the black dress on the sidelines

Her face looking up with crying eyes

She says why does the world always think what is wrong….right

Does murder have to be the only way to see that heavenly light

Judgment day only minutes away when staring at a gun

Little kids playing around electricity and having such wonderful fun

The water splashes up at the walls of a tub filled with blood

I need to sit down because I am going around

In the place where I left laying somewhere in town

People saying go on

Go to the place where you left

While on the run

Convinced that I am, but a stranger

A stranger with a past that just lingers

With such secrecy and mystery

That holds on all my misery

Rafting in a lie filled river

The waves just keep coming

I’m going under

The bottom is filled with heart-brokenness

Areas build up with all my risks

That I took when I was younger

Now I am buried in this river

The coffin has been nailed and filled with bolts

The reality is a shock of jolts

From the conclusion that is all real

Once you finally get the feel

Back to the same world I left when I was younger

Doesn’t make much of a difference

Seeing though I am older

Take an axe and chopped all those maple trees

Take away something precious like the air that we breathe

The lumberjack lacks emotion for the earth

After the lumber piles up and the money is made

What’s the worth?

A plant grows long in a couple months with leaves hanging out

But after some time it all be taken care of

For they’ll just plow

Everything that Mother Nature has worked hard to achieve

The logs are all stacked up and what is left are the leaves

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

Go on and fetch my sorrows

Covered in dust and buried around in the barrows

Time to go on the dusty trails

To the place where I want to sail

On the ocean’s magnificent waves

Blacking out on my way over there

And I caught with my ambition to stare

At all the happy people just lying around

With their troubles all gone and no where to be found

Yesterday was great

Tomorrow will come without a sound

Realizing the moment you found it

Bit by bit

Challenging everything that’s motionless

Struggling to become a perfectionist

Day by day

While the months go by

You just sit in a chair and just wave

As they are all passing by

Never taking the chance to make a difference

In the world that needs to be saved

Plucking away at my old guitar strings

The drummer sits tight

Hoping he’ll die

The poet thinks and thinks

His creativity sinks

In deeper while the vocals says bye

She makes her way to the bathroom

The mirror in front she tells her something new

Her face growing old yet she is still young

Her eyes painful cry and drop a tear on the old shaggy rug

Money is everything is this world to our society

Friendships forgotten and you become in debt

From what it seems

Slow on down and it take a rest

Walking out of the door

He says he hopes for the best

My son we’ll grow up and become a someone

Excuse me though while I go on the run

Take good care and I might see you soon

Although I just left this girl marooned

To deal with the problems I laid out for her

The chorus in a church is all singing

Praise the lord

Constructing a fence with believers

In a false hope

You need religion for the promises in a community

Joined together by faith and thinking they have immunity

A savior will come from above in a light shining down on me

Why hasn’t he showed as we are in the twenty-first century?

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

I need a drink comes I’m falling down

Down the ground where it’s cold all around

Leave me to sleep and forget about

Crawling to safety from this town

Would you stay?

Would you stay?

Going in the tunnel

I’m running to her

She seems me and laughs

She says “What a poor sap”

He built a house filled to the brick with memories

His fantasy

Now destroyed along with his family

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

Happiness is a lie now darling (lies, lies, lies, lies)

Happiness is a lie (yes it is) darling!

(Just a bunch of lies….yeah!)
