I felt the tears start to well in my eyes, the salty stinging sensation as I shut my eyes tightly. My hand glided across the smooth metal of the pole slid beneath my fingers as I desperately tried to re-clasp the pole. The oxygen filled my lungs repeatedly but it felt as if my lungs were still on fire, my chest twisted painfully as my eyes opened only to see the flooring of the stage coming closer and closer. As the tears kept pouring down my cheeks and leaving me behind as I fell gracefully through the air, trying to figure out as quickly as I could which body part didn’t I need in order for me to survive? Then I realized every body part I needed in some way, and no matter if I did make it out alive my dream of being the star of the stage would shatter if I couldn’t use my limbs. That was the same as dying in my eyes, my entire dream was to be on the stage making people smile and laugh as we preformed classic stories on tight ropes and through fire. Preforming Cinderella and making the beautiful dress appear out of thin air, while my prince charming waits on the other side of the stage ever so patiently.

Whipping past me the air was like bricks on every part of my body, as if I was actually running through a thing of bricks. The faint sound of my name made me look up, my entire body being forced around as I lay on my back watching the horrified face of my partner. As he stared down at me, reaching down with his hand out stretched as if trying to grasp mine even for a fleeting moment.

I choked out a sob and covered my face away from his as I saw the tears and my impending death written all over his face already. My breath hitched in my throat and it felt like I couldn’t breath as I grasped my neck tightly as I choked over my own saliva, my life wasn’t flashing before my eyes. It was his face the look of pure horror that glued into the surface of my head, behind my eye lids as I shut them tightly.

I heard gasps, screams, cries for help but my entire body had become completely numb as I re-opened my eyes. People I knew, friends hovered over my form tears streaming down their faces as they shouted things to me but it was no use, I couldn’t hear anything they were saying. What’s happening?! My mouth wouldn’t move, as my eyes seemed to be the only thing working as they filled up with tears. I didn’t know what was happening and it made me frantic, what had happened to me? I looked over at one of my friends, her hands covered her mouth as her wide green eyes stared down at me, overflowing with tears as she forced herself to look away. Her form faded from my view as she ran away from the scene, someone followed after her but I didn’t know who.

It hit me like nothing I would have ever expected, the pain was horrible and it sent off every nerve in my body like an alarm. I didn’t even know I was screaming until I saw someone cover their ears through the tears they were shedding for my pain. Not being able to move, to try and ease the pain that surfaced throughout the commotion. I prayed as much as I possibly could through the pain, to make it stop to make everything just stop. I couldn’t get my mouth to shut, I just screamed with oxygen I didn’t even know I took in as I writhed on the floor.

It was then when I somehow managed to flip myself onto my side that I saw the blood all over the floor, my arm was outstretched and in front of my face, but beneath it I could see all the blood. It was why everyone was screaming with me that the puddle of blood was stretching and only increasing. My breath was hitched as the tears continued to drip down my face I was no longer screaming but I was still in pain, I just had no breath to scream out anymore.

We have to bring her to the hospital quick!”

The bones in her rib cage are piercing her lungs! She won’t make it!”

We have to try! Get her in the ambulance!”

They touched me, a simple touch and I was screaming again as they clenched their teeth together and pulled me up and onto the stretcher. The nurse looked down at me with wide eyes as she kept her fingers on my wrist checking for my pulse, I assumed.

Please Ma’am, concentrate and try to stay awake. Recite the names of the seven dwarfs for me!”

I screamed louder, the nurse shut her eyes tightly against my ear piercing scream, the rush of cool air against me only made me scream out more. I could now locate where my injury was against the freezing air up against my open wounds, the nipping of the cold air against soaking wet exposed wounds, was dull compared to the pain I felt.

Please Ma’am! Recite the names of the seven dwarfs for me!”

The ambulance sirens flared as the blue sky turned a faded yellow color as I was loaded into the ambulance.

“I don’t give a fuck what their names are!”

I cried out in agony, as I tried to thrash back and forth. My side felt the most comfortable and to ease the pain, but no matter how many times I repeated it they shook their head saying it would only move the bone further into my lung. At that point it didn’t register what that meant as I struggled to move to my side the straps on the stretcher keeping me down and suddenly feeling wet. The nurse began screaming something to the driver and the other nurse in the back with her, who was trying to keep one arm steady to inject the needle and try to numb the pain out.

She won’t make it!”

Don’t give up on me!”

Their voices were nothing but muffled whispers as I screamed loudly, my chest began to ache badly and I soon subsided my screaming when I realized it was only making things worse. Instead I clenched my teeth together and shut my eyes tightly.

Please, don’t give up..for me.”

His voice was soft but to me it was the only thing I could hear over the blaring sirens and screaming nurses beside me. I opened my eyes as the tears continued to stream down my face, and I saw his face, his eyebrows were furrowed up. The tears were running down his face and I could see he was in as much pain as I felt, I wanted to reach up and hold him. I couldn’t do anything though, my arms were strapped at my sides and I could only watch as he shut his eyes tightly grasping a handful of my hair as I felt the small tug of it.

Please, don’t give up on me.”

His face appeared in my view once more, his dark hair framed his pale face. The gray eyes boring into mine as I felt the tears streak down my face all over again, I let out a muffled sob. I needed to, I wanted so badly to say anything to him, but all I could do was cry and watch as he cried for me.

I love you, so damn much, please don’t leave me.”

If I wasn’t already choking I would have started then, did he say what I just think he did? I began to cry harder as the I felt warm liquid drip down my chin, and the nurses screams became louder and louder.

“I-I l-love you t-too..”

I gasped out, the blood flowed down my chin. My vision was blurring and my world was going black, I couldn’t hear his voice anymore even though I could see he was shouting at me.

Don’t die! Don’t die!”

I managed to see him mouth to me, as I managed to smile through the pain, gulping back the bitter metallic taste of blood in my mouth. I didn’t want to die, but honestly I didn’t have a choice now did I? My world began to cave in as my senses dulled. The last thing I felt was the tears dripping off his chin and landing on my forehead as he yelled and yelled, but I couldn’t hear a word. I smiled once more, and then I felt my entire world cave in as everything around me faded.

The ambulance slowed down as the sirens clicked off, the entire placed was silent except for the pleads from the male as he grasped the girls’ chin screaming for her to wake up, yelling that he loved her over and over and didn’t want this to happen. Soon all fell silent as they watched the male collapse to his knees and bury his head in his hands, the nurse looked away. Her blood stained hand covered her mouth as the tears welled in her hazelnut eyes, she had seen many deaths. Yet this by far was the most tragic one she would ever witness, because now recently slipped on the girls cold left ring finger was an engagement ring. He had been planning to ask her to marry him in front of the entire audience at the stage, yet that moment never came and never would.

Well this is my first time uploading on Fictionpress, I have a bunch of Fanfictions on well fanfiction. Basically the girl is a preformer for a stage/circus and was using the trapezes and missed. Anyway I hope you liked it and please go lightly on critics! This was my first, first-point of view! If this is in the wrong place/subject I'm sorry, I went with what I thought was best which was horror seeing as she is dying and well dying can be scary. Oh, and this isn't a continued story, it's a simple one-shot I did out of boredom.

The whole recite the seven dwarfs probably seems pretty weird. It's because my mom was once taken to the hospital and the nurse had to try and keep her awake, so she told my mom to recite the names of the seven dwarfs. Of course my mom wasn't going to actually name them-she was in to much pain. It was just an inspiration I used for this story though.
