Hidden Grove

Enclosing a patch of lifeless clover,

Gnarled tree trunks grow.

Lost in the labyrinth, can’t start over,

Past overcome with fear and woe.

A distant haze roams up above,

Small films of light between high branches;

Can’t see it all, not in this grove,

Yet cannot try, there’s no more chances.

This wintry world of black and white

Wasn’t what was wanted,

Accepted too quickly the obscure invite,

Others’ memories forever haunted.

The chosen road was dark, unknown,

Visitors always left it alone.

The other road was only hindered;

Should’ve jumped above the stone.
