Jamie Cashborn

PROLOGUE

You’d think that the typical American teenager would be going crazy with excitement because they were turning eighteen. Well, seeing how I’m obviously nowhere near the time zone of excited, I’m obviously not your typical teenager. I have, unfortunately, been placed on this planet to constantly be reminded of my family’s wretched wealth by being compelled to attend the most costly and prestigious school in all of Orlando- Mountain View Prepatory School. My parents feel it’s “an extraordinary experience that will relinquish all of my negative thoughts of the wealthy.” I don’t think so. Going to MVPS just proves that a lot of wealthy teens are spoiled rotten and have at least three sticks up their asses. Don’t get me wrong, though. I do not believe that all of the wealthy kids that attend MVPS are spoiled- although some of them are so dense that they can’t fathom the sum of 1 plus 2. I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. That is, unless the first words out of their mouth are, “My father has so much money…”

My best friend, Catherine Hawthorne, says that I’m really obsessed with the negativities of the rich world instead of the “wondrous possibilities it lays out for us.” I continue to tell her that I have an open mind when it comes to money unlike our many counterparts and that those three sticks come nowhere near my ass. Of course, she replies with a remark about me catching the eye of guys at our school with my good looks and how having money could help speed up the process of finding a life mate. Um… what? So what if I inherited my mom’s looks- which are, on occasion, compared to Jayne Mansfield’s- and have received spa treatment every first Sunday for seventeen years? So what if I even got her 5’9” frame and the best feet to walk the streets? Does that matter to me? No. Yes, I sometimes wear clothes to show off my figure, but it’s not to catch the eyes of any of those boys. I do that for me.

If you think this isn’t a problem, then you’re in for a rough ride. This is my diary: the diary of Jamie Cashborn.

A/N: I hope everyone likes this story. I’ve been working on it for about a year, haha. Read and review!!
