Hersheys: Why do I always post everything? This isn't even my story .

Lynn tumbled out of the car, then glared at Sapphire sneering, “Crazy woman.”

Sapphire shrugged nonchalantly and smirked, “Why this time?” She started walking to the mansion, not bothering to get an answer.

Lynn followed her and said, “Eh, the usual. Driving two hundred miles per hour with only one hand; the other either changing the radio station, playing with Kremlin, or making havoc with your finger.” Lynn took a breath, remembering the obstacles that Sapphire made for herself on the rode just so she could have some form of interest in driving. “As much as I enjoy getting a killer headache from my head slamming into the dashboard; please warn me in advance next time you take control of another car while already driving one, so I can secure my shield.” She rubbed her head, wincing at the touch.

“Pfft, it’s your car, that thing is not as smooth when breaking as mine. Therefore you should have hit the car for hitting your head inst- Ouch! What was that for?!” Sapphire rubbed the back of her head.

Lynn ignored her question and muttered smart-aleck under her breath. “That’s twice today, you know.” Sapphire said to Lynn; fluttering her eyelashes at her. Half way through Sapphire’s sentence, Lynn spotted Shawn, so Lynn didn’t process what Sapphire was saying, a slight smile becoming visible on her lips.

Shawn noticed a presence approaching and looked towards it. A wide grin made an appearance on his face. He glided towards Lynn, leaving the other ghosts who he was talking to. His smile was almost repulsive; it was all dreamy and puppy-dog and- Sapphire cringed. It almost looks like he wants to devour Lynn.

“Hey….” Lynn said breathlessly.

“Hey….” He said brightly, running his hand through his hair. “Hi, Sapphire.”

Lynn and Shawn stared into each other’s eyes for a moment. Shawn slowly became solid. Sapphire started to make kissing noises. Lynn glanced at Sapphire, or more like glared, and kicked her in the butt. “Ow!” Sapphire rubbed her bottom and started walking to the others, sniffling for dramatic effect. A few more friends had come out of the mansion to greet the new-comers. Kremlin was sitting on Nadia’s shoulder. Nadia was a twelve year old shadow manipulator. She has silver hair and is 5’2’.

“Hi, Dia.” Sapphire chirped.

Nadia smiled,” Hiya!” Nadia was like a little sister to Sapphire. One that is more mature than her though. But that didn’t seem to bother Sapphire much; she might not have really noticed this though, most people are more mature than Sapphire.

“What’s the scoop?” Sapphire said, sitting down on the picnic table in front of the mansion. She ignored Jason who was grumbling about savage people sitting on him because he was a ghost, and how ghosts have feelings as well. When Jason finally moved out of where he was still sitting when Sapphire sat, Sapphire said, “Oh! I was wondering why it was so cold. Stop going through me, Jason! It’s becoming hobby of your’s!”

Jason glared at Sapphire’s innocent beaming face and became solid in a snap. Nadia, noticing that he was going to hurt Sapphire either psychologically or psychically, decided it was time to step in before a fight, “we found something today! Want to check it out?” She grabbed Sapphire’s hand and dragged her to the entrance to the mansion.

Sapphire happily looked about, loving the dreariness of the front hall. The entrance hall had thick scarlet curtains instead of seeing the normal paint or wallpaper, though if you pulled back the curtains (how you would manage that though, is the question) you would see a blinding white wall. On both sides there was an arch that allowed you to enter the kitchen and living room, both of which loop around to the back of the house to the dining room. Opposite to the door to enter was another door that was an arched wooden door, but thinner than the first. At the bottom of that door were all of the people’s names that hung out at this place. It brought you down to the basement, where there was a game room that had all types of videogames, board games and foosball and ping pong.

Nadia opened the door and walked down the flight of stairs to the basement. What could be so interesting that’s happening down here? Sapphire thought. Then she spotted it. In the corner of the room, next to the end table was a curtain that seemed to be covering something. Having Sapphire’s great sense of restraint, she walked up to it and pulled back the curtain.

Sapphire stared at the thing a moment then bluntly stated, “Ew.”

“Ain’t it just?” Nadia said from behind Sapphire. “Greg found it this morning, and being Greg he just had to stick his hand in it to see what it does. The bizarre thing that happened was that his hand kind of disappeared…”

Sapphire was just staring at the strange gooey substance that was plastered on the corner. It was a deep purple, almost black, color and it had a luminous look to it. It was spinning around like how in fall, leaves spin around when the wind blows.

“We think it’s a portal of some sorts. Though, we are assuming that it goes to the world apart and as much fun as it would be to go there, we think it would be a good idea to find a way to seal it,” Nadia continued.

“Do you know how?”

“Nope. That’s why we hoped you would know. Because you go to a fancy school and all.” Nadia and the others get home schooled by tutors, with the exception of Jason and Cleo, who goes to the same school as Sapphire, but never really care much about school and their parents were at the world apart and no one could yell at them for not going. Their parent’s either couldn’t afford to pay for the private school that Sapphire goes to, or they didn’t want their children to go to the school where the ‘man’ rules, or they let their children decide if they wanted to go to a school full of havoc seeking teenagers.

“Darn… now I regret falling asleep in the Sealing the Random Portal that Happened to Appear in Your Home class.”

“No need to be sarcastic.” Nadia grumbled.

About fifteen minutes of Sapphire attempting to put her hand in the ‘sparkly vortex of doom’ and Nadia pulling it away, Cleo, Jason, Brad, Owen, Greg, Shawn, Lynn, and Trinity came down to see why Sapphire was yelling at Nadia. “Well, Nadia was being a butthead.” Sapphire explained.

“Hey! I was ju-.” Nadia started.

“What’s that?” Lynn said, examining Sapphire’s want-to-be play thing.

“Vortex of doom!” Sapphire said, shrugging and then trying to get her hand through it again.

“It’s a portal to the world apart.” Brad clarified.

“No, it’s not. We have no idea where exactly it goes to.” Cleo said. Cleo had a thing about believing that the world apart doesn’t exist. She thinks that the world apart is just a way to kill the people who want a better life than under the Council.

“Oh-Kay…” Lynn said rolling her eyes. “Sapphire, close the curtain and let’s play ping pong, I’m so going to beat you!”

“Oh, is that a challenge?!” Sapphire said, bouncing to the ping pong table. Sapphire was the ping pong champ, no one could beat her.

“I-I don’t understand….” Sapphire said staring at her hand that was holding the paddle. “H-how… c-could I… lose?!” She seemed like she was about to break down to tears, Lynn was the opposite of that.

“Oh, my god!” Lynn said dancing around. “I won!” She ran to Shawn, who was still solid, jumped up and hugged him with her legs wrapped around him. She then kissed him. Everyone fell silent, except for Sapphire and her whimpering. Sure, everyone knew that they had a thing for each other, but they never thought they’d act upon it. The last time someone was ‘in love’ with Lynn, she accidentally killed the guy after he broke up with her. No, she didn’t do it purposely, but still it happened. That’s when Lynn got her first warning; she had two more chances until she was eliminated.

“I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL!!!” Sapphire declared jumping up. Kremlin popped up next to her and Sapphire grinned evilly. “Do you accept!?” She seemed completely unaware of the matter at hand.

“Sure, Sapphire, “Lynn said, she was blushing and wasn’t meeting anyone’s eyes. “Let’s go outside.”

“Yes! Allons! Tout le monde dehors!” Sapphire shouted excitedly. This was met by a bunch of blank faces. “Fait pourquoi personne ne parle d'autre le français?!” They continued to stare at her. Sapphire sighed. “J'ai besoin de plus d'amis qui sont trilingue….” Sapphire muttered walking past Trinity to the stairs.

“Well… It seems Sapphire learned another language over night. How is it possible that she knows about four languages and she’s fluent in all of them?” Trinity said. “And she’s so humble about it….”

“She is Sapphire, it’s not like she thinks it’s impossible to do anything. She must think that everyone can do anything.” Nadia said.

“Je peux vous entendre, vous savez!” Sapphire shouted half way up the stairs.

“Heh?!” Greg shouted back.

“Ugh!” Sapphire said, slamming the door.

“I thought you wanted to duel!” Lynn said running after her.

“Ça ne fait rien, maintenant.” Sapphire pouted.

“Why are you speaking in a different language?”

“Because I feel like it.” Sapphire grinned.

“Oh…..” They walked together quietly as they made their way to the living room staircase, where Lynn stopped Sapphire and said, “Thanks for back there. It was getting extremely awkward and I didn’t know what to do….”

Sapphire stared at Lynn for a second. “It was getting awkward?”

“You didn’t notice.” Lynn said, confused.

“Notice what?”

“Noticed that I…. Never mind. So what you did back there…. You were really challenging me to fight weren’t you?”

“Yes! Until you all decided to be buttheads and not understand me.” Sapphire barked angrily. Lynn just stared at the enraged Sapphire until she realized who she was talking to. “Now! Off to my room to formulate a plan to get to the portal so I can stick my hand in it without Dia giving me a migraine.” Sapphire said brightly, snickering. “It seems she doesn’t trust me with it, which makes it more fun!”

-

“!” Sapphire said, looking like she thoAnd then I get to stick my hand in the portalught it was a great plan. Lynn and Sapphire were sitting on Sapphire’s bed in the mansion. They all have bedrooms in the mansion, but they are only there for maybe three nights a month, the rest at their houses with parents. Note how they don’t call those houses homes.

“But, don’t you think it’s a bit complicated just to do that one thing. Because I’m a bit worried about burning down the mansion for that….” Lynn said staring at the map of the house Sapphire made.

“Pfft, it’s so worth it!” Sapphire said. “Now, to start we need-.”

“Sapphire! What are you doing?!” Nadia was at the door staring at the scribbles on the paper that was marked ‘Fire Equals Sparkly Vortex’

“Nothing!” Sapphire quickly covered the map.

“She was planning on burning the house down.” Lynn said, leaving the room.

“TREASON!” Sapphire shouted after her.

Nadia sighed, “Honey, if you burn the house down what will happen to this place? The only place you love?”

“Well, I wasn’t planning on burning this place down. I was planning on taking this place and burning the rest.” Sapphire smirked.

“Then what was the point of the planning?!” Nadia yelled at her. She obviously got that Sapphire never planned on burning down the place.

“Did you honestly think I would do that?”

“Yes…”

Sapphire glared at her. “Well the point of that nonsense planning was this….” She faded off, smirking when she noticed she got Nadia’s attention. She then snapped her finger and waved to Nadia a second then popped up in the basement, startling the guys from their video games.

“Don’t mind me,” Sapphire said. The guys shrugged and continued shooting each other.

She walked up to the portal and put a finger through it. Slowly she pushed her whole hand in. Suddenly Sapphire screamed.
