Confinements of freedom

"All I ever wanted was you" I slurred back drunk on imperfections and fooled by my own hypocrisies but honey I am the queen of sweet nothings,

By morning I'll be gone

I whisper afraid of commitment like its some kind of explanation

When behind closed doors & barricades of hands I scream freedom like its something I never really had.

The sins on my lips b.u.r.n

But when I wake up its just false politeness and tiptoed footsteps as I make my way out your door,

The chains on my feet clatter.
