Migraine
I sat on the edge of my bed, my head in my hands. Why wouldn’t this throbbing pain go away? I had been sat like this for hours on end, patiently waiting for some sign of relief. I usually suffered with Migraines but this one was worse than usual, the pain seemed a lot sharper, like there were knives slowly cutting away my skull. I looked up and stared at the bottle of “Pain-Stopper Aspirin”, resting on my bed-side table. I quickly snatched them up and emptied two of the small white pills into my hand. A glass of water (that was once chilled but was now warm and tasteless) washed them down.
I laid back on my bed and closed my eyes, it would take a while for the Aspirin to kick-in, but I couldn’t wait, this pain was unbearable; I gently pressed my fingers into my eyes in an attempt to dull the pain, but that only made it worse. As soon as my fingers touched my eyelids, several more sharp knives chopped away at my skull. I bit my lip to stop myself from screaming in agony. If it got any worse then I’d have to call a doctor, or an ambulance, or something like that. Another row of knives shot into my skull, I bit so hard on my lip that it popped open slightly and squirted blood all over my bed. The burst lip helped to take my mind of the migraine, but only for a few seconds, as soon as I focused on my lip, it felt like flaming-sledge hammers were smashing against my brain.
I got to my feet, but I began to lose balance, it was if I had no legs at all. At that moment I fell to my knees. Hoping and praying for some help. My brain then began to feel as it if was stretching, my skull was on fire, it too seemed to be stretching. I gripped the sides of my head and screamed once again. I felt something wet on my hands, I brought them from my head and in front of my eyes. Blood! There was blood dripping off my fingertips; I felt around my ears, they too were wet with blood.
Another burst of pain then erupted inside my head, it felt as if my skull was cracking and breaking from within. I screamed and screamed, but it did no good, my skull kept expanding and I began to feel the skin on my head peeling away as the raw bone poked through, ripping through my flesh and causing me to bleed uncontrollably. I let out one final cry of agony before my head imploded, spraying blood and brain-matter up the walls. My body only twitched, but I was no longer alive.
The police arrived at my apartment twenty minutes later; one of the neighbours heard my screams and called the emergency services. Of course there was no answer, so they broke in and found my headless body in my bedroom. Lying on the bed was the bottle of “Pain-Stopper Aspirin” On the side of the bottle, in a small blue letters were the words “May Cause Side-Effects”.
The End
