GLORY

In the dark before morning

I caught a glimpse of Your glory.

As the blackness of night

Gave way to the clear, dark blue of pre-dawn

I saw.

I thrilled.

Anticipation flowed through me.

Dark blue skies.

Though yet early, the sweet, shrill whistles of Spring’s birds

Calling to each other

No man yet stirs beneath these skies

Nor rises to hear these birds

All is peaceful

All is still

A wisp of dark cloud, outlined by Almost-morning’s sky, bears a remnant of Night

Sleep, Night

Rest in Peace

As my eyes do wait, watching, ever intent, hoping for another glimpse

It comes

Dawn

A splash of pale gold across the horizon

It brightens the dark sky

Casting light into the shadows

That one splash of gold turns the deep blue to pale blue

And then a kiss of pink, rose’s hue

Pinks and golds turn to reds and oranges

Leading up to that final, glorious moment when

The Sun rises

Bathing the world in its light

The Sun heralds the Morning

Dawn has come

My breath catches in my throat

I stand in awe

Show me Your works, O God

Let Your majesty be revealed

For as long as I live

Let me always

Catch a glimpse of Your

GLORY.
