So I’ll admit,

That I know I may be making a mistake.

And I’ll admit,

That you probably know more than I do.

But I’ll admit,

I’m not totally certain my heart knows

That I’ll admit

When my soul knows I’m wrong.

Will you admit to me,

That you understand what I want?

Oh, won’t you please admit

That you’d want the same thing?

Because I know, and I’ll admit,

I know and understand your reasons.

Will you admit,

You were allowed your own mistakes.

Mother, admit,

If you were me you’d do it too.

And I’ll admit

I don’t mind the consequences

Because I admit

I haven’t gone far enough to know what they are.

I’ll admit

I really am afraid,

And I’ll admit,

These tears in my eyes are real.

I’ll admit

I never knew quite how to ask,

For you to admit, I’m not a child anymore.

A/N - Obviously a poem to my mother...
