I know, it's very very short, not even a page on wordpad.
It's not all that important.
I was randomly writing one day after a science test.
This is the result.
The forest was empty, devoid of anyone but her. But they were there. You could hear them in the winds, whispering words of guidance. You could see them in the fog, drifting, floating, then disappearing altogether. Yes, she was by herself in the woods, but she was not alone.
The foot-path was littered thick with pebbles, twigs, and the odd paper here and there. The looks showed obvious signs of being rundown, forgotten. But it was far from forgotten. She knew the paths, the winds, she knew this place. The forest, the trees, the path, the pond of water. She knew it all, every curve and turn, every inch and more.
Tears were streaming down her face, her obvious distress running the animals from her, scared by her appearance. Yet, there was a sort of calmness emitting from her.
By now she was at the deck, old, rotting, abandoned. They were back, surrounding her again, pounding in her ears; "Go home..." "You shouldn't be here..." "It is not safe..." They did not know, did not realize, that she wanted to be there. That she didn't want safe. The wood was cracking under her feet, caving under her weight.
It was nearly sunset, the dust rising, the sky tinting into purples and pinks. Only the second it was too late, the wood already gone from her feet, did she realize she didn't want this, did she second guess her choice.
The cold water attacked at her sides, pulling her under, filling her open mouth as she fought desperately to scream. The murky water stung her eyes, penetrated deep into her lungs. Then , she stopped fighting, a dreamy expression arcing across her tortured face, so pale, a ghost.
Miles away from people, hours away from civilization, but only seconds away from air. She sunk to the floor, waterlogged and empty. She never opened her eyes again.
