"Incoming transmission, text data only," the computer said in a feminine tone, waking the sleeping teenager.

"Display," he murmured sleepily and knuckled his right eye.

"Displaying on Modular 5."

"Pie here. Breaking orbit in three days. Will be needing food stuffs on arrival. Sending list, locate at bottom of file.

As for Pie himself, Pie's fine. Bruises healed, no broken bones. Ship computer sick, will repair when arrived at station. Still no clue where treasure hide.

Pie out."

At the bottom of the short note was a standard list of a cruiser's entire galley and he wondered just how long it had been since the little concubine-turned-treasure hunter had eaten, let alone bought food. He decided that a meal would be in order for the green-haired treasure hunter and he got up to find his little black book of connections.

He had a couple days to get everything, he wouldn't see Pie for at least a week if he hadn't waited to send the message.

He found his book and sat down to find the right contact numbers he would need when a loud bang sounded throughout his section of the station and he got up to check the computers. "What happened, Ju?"

"Unidentified ship in sector. It has the docking bay targeted."

"Dammit, PIE! You're dead meat!"

The station's computer pinged. "Incoming transmission, full video."

"On screen!" he hissed and a wildly smiling green-haired teenager's face filled the screen.

"Pie here!" he chirped cheerily. "Want on station. Open locks."

"Pie, ya little dork, stop targetin' me!"

" 'Welcome home, Pie,' " Pie said and the older teenager sighed.

"Welcome home, Pie. NOW STOP TARGETIN' ME AN' GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!"

"Aye-aye, sir! Pie do as told by Saji," he said cheerfully and the transmission was cut off.

Saji ducked his head and rubbed his temples. "Dammit, I hate you, kiddo."

"Unidentified ship in docking bay 8. Air lock re-pressurized," the computer said dispassionately.

"Thank you, Ju," Saji muttered and made his way to the bays. He brushed his own hunter-green hair from his eyes and put his hand on the control panel so it would open. "Pie, you better not have left the bay without me."

"SAJI!" came a squeal and Saji wound up on the hard floor, lightly yellowed arms wound tightly around his waist and a light-green head of hair under his chin.

"Hello, Pie."

"Pie missed Saji," he said in that dreadfully cheery tone and Saji sighed again. "What matter, Saji not miss Pie, too?"

"No, no, I missed ya, really I did. I just wasn't expectin’ ya so soon. I just got your transmission and I was goin’ ta get your stuff for ya."

"Pie help Saji!" the little treasure-hunter said and tugged the older teen to his feet. "Come on, come on, go get food stuffs for Pie!"

"I'm comin', I'm comin'," Saji replied as he stumbled after the shorter teen. "Slow down, ya dork. Why are you so impatient alla sudden?"

"Pie hungry, need food."

"Oh, right."

--

"Ya know, you eat an awful lot of a little guy," Saji noted as he set another plate of food in front of the treasure-hunter. "How long has it been since ya ate anything?"

"Day?"

"Yeah."

"Pie ate last on Sunday," he said and took a huge bite of chicken.

"Of?"

"Two weeks."

"WHAT?!" Saji roared at Pie and grabbed his shirt collar. "How the hell did ya not let me know, ya little dork? Ain't ya smart enough to know that ya can't survive without eatin'?"

"Pie was fine, ate rations. Nasty stuffs, yucky. Saji cooking yummy."

He sighed (again) and released the shorter teen's shirt and pet his head. "I'm sorry I yelled, kiddo. Ya should have contacted me, though, I'm supposed to take care of ya but I can't do that when ya keep leaving alla time."

"Pie knows and Pie appreciates Saji's kindness," Pie said and reached up to hug Saji's neck. "Pie appreciates Saji."

"I know ya do, kiddo. Are ya gonna stay for very long?"

"When ship fixed Pie go," he explained and reached for his chicken again.

Saji took his wrist and pulled it back. "Ya ate enough, you're agonna get sick iffen ya eat any more."

"But Pie hungry."

"You can finish later. Promise."

"Okay, Pie do as Saji says."

"Go clean up an' we can go for a walk or somethin'."
