pop! goes the champagne bubbles

enough of shining dreams. enough of the life that
i’ve mapped out (made up) inside my head,
time to pop some sparkling champagne instead. and (it'll sparkle more than my dreams, the way it bubbles!)
pop! a toast to pragmatism, the central theme of living in
a rushed-by society (messed up, maybe?) that doesn’t listen to artists that crave for some sharing,

nor look at dancers who pirouette across night skies with the moon on their dresses.
nor read the writers who write to tease your hearts,
nor hear the singers who sing to melt all of your senses.

i'm running out of oxygen and won't have money to buy bread for dinner.
my dreams dissolve in a wispy strand of
champagne bubbles popping to the sound of society’s calling (pop! poppoppop pop!),
and enough is enough.

i will douse myself in champagne and pop as a bubble. (pop.)
