DARK IS BETTER THAN ALONE
By Joshua Parish
Thorns that grow from blackest rose
Prick you, bleed you like a hose,
Drain you of your heart and soul,
Make you a blank, vacant hole.
Please, please fill me
With the ebony!
Dark is better than alone.
Even when you can’t atone,
Dark is better than alone.
Light should be a home,
But sometimes leaves to roam,
Thus black is my abode
No unbearable load.
But ebony frightens,
Not love or enlightens;
It matters not a bone.
Dark is better than alone.
Dark is better than alone!
