These days have slipped into months
Bigger blocks of time
Time spent wondering if
Once the year passes
These obstacles will sink into the mud
My tears mixed with the barren earth has

Made
In the frustration of living and breathing
A world where nothing makes sense.
Nonsensical words put forth by mouths full.
To mouths begging for sustenance, the truth.
Truth hidden by glossed over philosophies
Philosophies that punish the land that we sow
And reap nothing.
Nothing like the smile on your face
On your independence day.
