The kitchens, seemingly, were not designed for a high school, but rather a display in a kitchen décor store. It was a sight to look at all twelve kitchens standing side by side. Each individual kitchen was decorated and outfitted with expensive materials such as oak cabinets, granite tabletops, and stain steel sinks. Not only were they attractive, but the size of each of the kitchens was incredible. Each station was able to fit inside a small two person table, making them appear as true kitchens. Emeredae was the first to sit at the table, easily feeling comfortable in the assigned space. Cieare sat down moments after her, placing their assignment down in the middle and letting out a sigh.

“Let’s just get this done quick, alright.” He said, “I know I don’t want to be here just as much as you.”

She shrugged, “It doesn’t really matter to me. I’m dropping this class in a week. So…”

He simply stared at her, slightly happy that she would be gone and slightly annoyed that she was taking this so lightly. She might be able to leave, not do the assignments, but this was still his grade. Yet then again, this girl did not seem to care about anyone but herself. “That’s nice, but I would like to get this assignment done. I still have to be here.”

“Oh, that’s right. You do.”

“Yes, so could you be at least pleasant for an hour to finish this.”

She smirked, folding her arms across her chest, “Once again, you are asking me to do something. So bossy.”

He bit his tongue, “Look, I don’t have time for this…”

“Neither do I. Excuse me, but I have to get to the bathroom.” She stood, grabbing her small purse from her backpack. “Go ahead and start without me…”

“I can’t.”

Emeredae felt good as she pranced down the steps of the classroom, and toward the teacher’s desk. Though Ms. Aldea raised an eyebrow when she asked to go, but allowed her.

“Are you moving along on your questionnaire?”

“Um…I guess.” She said, taking the pass from the teacher’s hand.

Cieare found himself waiting ten minutes for her return, and he was about livid. When she came back, walking as she had all the time in the world he did his best to keep his disposition. Yet, he would not excuse his tongue if little bits of fire shot out toward her. Or any little comments.

“Welcome back.” He did say as she sat down.

She did not respond, rather just looked at the empty paper still sitting in the middle of the table. “You didn’t start?”

“Well, no, it takes two people. I think the teacher sort of pointed that out when she assigned us as partners.”

“Oh, well…” She looked at her watch, only twenty minutes left in class. “Do you think we have enough time?”

“I don’t know. Let’s just try and see how fast we can get. Alright…” He brief looked over the instructions which said to introduce yourself to your partner, and then write three things down about them. “Ladies first…”

“Ladies first… what?” She glanced at the papers.

“In introductions, that is what the paper says to do. So go on ahead, your name and a couple things about you.”

“Ah,” Emeredae continued to stare at papers. “If you must know, I am Emeredae. My family is not from Songea and I am here due to my father’s job. My birthday just passed and now I’m seven and ten summers. My favorite color is violet, and lastly…” She looked him directly in the eyes. “I realize I don’t like you.”

He simply brushed her comment to the side, “I’m Cieare Elopaide, eight and ten summers. I am captain of the Legion 27 of Syonea…”

“You mean you play dress up and have the desire to kill…”

Cieare had just about had it with her. First she had ruined his blazer, and now she was making a point to be very difficult. Had she been one of his cadets Cieare knew he would have already put her in place. She would being saying, ‘yes sir’ or ‘no sir’ and if he had told her to jump, she would have had had to.

“Look,” He leaned forward and put a hand near her own, his voice dripping with venom. “I don’t know what your problem is, Eemerade, but I just want to get this paper done. And it would be nice not to have your little comments.”

That was unexpected, at least to Eemerade, and it made her jump. Once she had regained her posture she scoffed, leaning back in her chair with her arms across her chest. “Then finish it then.”

That made him smile by just the small fact he had scared her, even if for a brief moment. “What do you not understand about a partner assignment?”

She looked at her watch, smiling, and “Oh dear, class is ending in a couple minutes. How time flies…” She sighed while getting to her feet. Cieare did not believe her until he looked at his watch; there were only a couple minutes until three. How had time passed so quickly? Below both could hear Ms. Adela call for all the papers to be turned in. Yet they had not even passed question one. That…

“Bye, Cieare.” Eemerade said, already heading toward the stairs. She had her backpack over her shoulder, and purse in hand. On her face was a smug smile, which Cieare wished he could have slapped off.

“We did not finish.”

“Oh, well, I have to go. Maybe tomorrow…”

“No. We need…”

“Bye!” With one last wave she hurried down the stairs, out of the classroom just as the class bell rang, and relieved to be out of that class.

This is just a repost of a chapter. Yeah.
