Chapter 1: The Curse
A hush. A hush that filled the air around the castle like Thira, goddess of the weather, filled the sky with thunderclouds. Something was about to happen. Even the wind-children, the Zephyrs, could feel it.
Suddenly, an evil laugh split the eerie silence. “He will be maimed until I receive my demands!” an evil, croaking voice keened.
“No!” a young girl’s voice cried out.
There was a final, creeping chuckle, then a loud crack. The sounds of an early spring morning were broken only by the sobs of a young princess, crying over the body of her unconscious father.
