Canzonetta
Sing me a song with not a note of sadness
Sing me a song with not a note of sadness
When all the pain of love drives me to madness
Sing me to sleep with a sweet serenading
Oh so gently
Oh so gently
From sound to silence fading
Love is a blessing rare beyond all measure
Love is a blessing rare beyond all measure
Time is the thief of love who steals our pleasure
Sing me to sleep with a sweet serenading
Oh so gently
Oh so gently
From sound to silence fading
Sweet are the joys that music can awaken
Sweet are the joys that music can awaken
Music can calm the pain of hearts forsaken
Sing me to sleep with a sweet serenading
Oh so gently
Oh so gently
From sound to silence fading
Sing me a song to cool a lover’s burning
Sing me a song to cool a lover’s burning
When to my heart the anguish keeps returning
Sing me to sleep with a sweet serenading
Oh so gently
Oh so gently
From sound to silence fading
Sing me to sleep with a sweet serenading
Oh so gently
Oh so gently
From sound to silence fading
Note: This song does not belong to me, it is Orazio Vecchi's (thank you very much for letting me borrow it! ;))
Well, it has been a long road but I finally got there! I know SMTS is not exactly a masterpiece (in fact it's really amateur) but it was really just to test my skills as a writer, and it has been a wonderful experience. I'm all geared up for writing my next two stories (yes, you haven't heard the last of me!) my short story, 'Wonderland' and another novel which title I'm not sure of yet, but I'm working with 'She Doesn't Deserve You' - I'm really looking forward to it. Expect a story in a similar style to SMTS, only longer chapters, a more complex storyline, a bigger focus on school life and generally, just a more grown-up story altogether. My other story 'City in the Clouds' is on hold because I really don't have a full idea of the storyline yet.
