Title: Far, Far Away
Author: Dana-chaaan.
Information: Original Fiction – Young Adult – Tragic
Summary: “Everything was a mistake.” “A mistake?” “Yes, this was just a meaningless love. Forget it ever happened.”
Author's Note: This was inspired from a story I heard long ago from one of my best friends. You know nothing of the meaning behind this story, and you will never know the full meaning. But, this is somewhat dedicated to my dear friend, beholding the boy's perspective – more or less – on this. Enjoy...
.Start
“Everything,” he said slowly, eyes drawn to the ground of the hallway floor, his friends surrounding him as he spoke to his girlfriend, “was a mistake.”
Lavender eyes brimmed with unshed tears, bottom lip twitching in sorrow as her head bent forward slightly, smooth black hair curtaining her face. “A...mistake?” she repeated slowly, hands fisting her school skirt.
“Yes. I... This was just a meaningless love. Forget it ever happened,” he said quickly, chocolate eyes hard and form rigid. His own short medium brown hair was tucked gently behind his ears as he watched his girlfriend – or ex-girlfriend now – shield herself from view.
“But... You...” Her piercing purple eyes snapped up, strictly meeting his cool gaze and faint tears dropping from her emotional eyes.
The boy couldn't help but compare her tears to waves of raw emotion leaking from her spirit. Yet, he would never say such a thing. Breaking their eye contact to glance to his friends circulated around him, he sighed at his once girlfriend, really wishing he could just rid himself of this predicament and leave this relationship in the dust.
“You told me you loved me. You said you wanted to be with me forever. You claimed I was the most unique girl you had ever known. Could you really say all that to me and not mean a single bit?” Anger and hurt flashed dangerously in her eyes, and yet the boy did not flinch. “You mean to tell me you were lying to me this whole time? That this whole time, this whole relationship was meaningless to you?!” Her own female friends glared harshly at the boy and his accompaniments, saddened to see how broken their friend was at the moment.
Unlike denying it and trying to aid the fall with his girlfriend, he spoke simply, “Exactly.” He sighed with exasperation, wondering why it ever had to end this way. He actually held such strong feelings for this girl. He thought she was absolutely beautiful with sleek black hair that brushed past her shoulders and gleaming purple eyes that coaxed happiness right out of him. With a slender form and appealing clothes, and gentle features and an adoring smile, she was quite dazzling. Plus, she was also so very nice and sweet and always so honest and trustworthy. Everything about her he loved, but this had gone on long enough.
“Look, Elizabeth, I'm sorry it had to end this way,” his tone however did not speak any apologetic values, “But, it's over. I don't love you. I never did. Sorry.” And with that, he didn't wait for any response from her, simply shifted the backpack strap on his shoulder and turned around and left the building.
School was over for the day, and his relationship with Elizabeth Quirrels was over for good.
“Ayden,” he heard her call out his name, yet he refused to turn around and simply left her to whatever her plans might have been. It was time to turn his back on the only thing he had ever wanted.
“It may have been meaningless to you, but I will never regret any of it,” she called quietly after him, and Ayden Jarlors heard it quite perfectly.
“I know.” He spoke silently, more to himself then anyone around him. He paused in his step slightly, acutely realizing his gaze was fogging up ever so slightly. Swallowing the lump in his throat and silencing the butterflies in his stomach, he willed his unshed tears away and spoke under his breath. “Goodbye Elizabeth.”
And as he left the building, he knew his life would never be the same. He knew he had just turned his back on the one person who cared so much for him. But, as he pried deep into himself, he registered the fact that he could never love her like she wanted him to. He could never be everything she wanted. So, the only place to go was away.
Far, far away.
End.
Author's Note: And it's dark and depressing, and completely complete. Review?
