I watched you stand there in the dark. You couldn't look at yourself anymore. I felt your pain, tasted your tears.
I told you not to do it.
I warned you, I really did.
But you threw your fist. I watched the pieces float around you. Droplets of blood fell to the floor.
I helped you. I made you numb.
While I watched each dangerous day go by, they said you were crazy. They told you to ignore me.
"There's no such thing as luck."
"It's all in your head."
Well I watched it hit you. It plowed through that red light.
You landed on the ground.
I held you in my arms. I watched you bleed.
And with your last breath, my last breath, I whispered, "I said it would catch up to you. But you didn't listen. I'm only in your head. All I can do is watch."
