Okay, so I started to write this story in a notebook for my continuous dreams and suddenly I had a few chapters written in about two days. I then decided to give this a chance and see if anyone would like it. I also am posting this story up because I think that my other stories SUCK!!!!! and have been getting close to no reviews on each if you rounded them to the nearest ten. So, I hope anyone who reads this will like it and review to get the next chapter.

CHAPTER ONE

WHY THE BATTLE RAGES IN THEIR SOULS

The battle continued mercilessly. Bodies lay strewn across the field. Thousands upon thousands of men and women still fought, avenging their fallen comrades. Everywhere in sight for hundreds of miles were groups of people fighting one another. So terrible was the sight, some fought in desperation to keep fighting without taking anything in.

High above the ground, close to the peaks of the mountains, another battle ensued. Dragons fought against each other as their riders battled to gain an advantage. On occasion, a dragon would descend to the opponents’ army and would rise to stay out of range from the archers and their dragon-killing arrows.

Nothing made sense. Nothing could be done to protect the fighters. Chaos reigned upon everyone as each tried to escape death’s cruel hands. A life of servitude or torture awaited the loser of the battle, or utter humiliation at the loss. A great loss either way for survivors of the losing army. That is why each side would not let itself fail in gaining the victory they deserved.

The reason for the battling is a completely and totally important for both sides. They did not fight to gain power or land or food; they fought for revenge that they supported.

One prince. One princess. Both determined not to marry each other as was planned. The reason for this marriage arrangement was because both parents of each child wished to stop the war that had been fought fir a millennia. As such, the battle would have ceased, but the young prince fell in love with another man. The young princess, in fury and scorn, declared another war before their marriage that would have taken place a week before their 15th birthdays since both were born the same day.

The princess, named Cole immediately struck the castle of the young prince named Jogan using one of the sacred dragons. As such, Prince Jogan struck back with his own dragon and another war ensued. Prince Jogan was accepted for what he had done by the people. Many in the kingdom were like him- loving a member of the same gender. All the people in Princess Cole’s kingdom were offended by such a disgusting thing as loving another of the same gender so badly that they immediately fought alongside their princess to destroy al of Jogan’s lands.

Both kingdoms immediately chose to fight for the honor of their royal families.

And now, six years later, Princess Cole- blonde with red strands, skin the color of a setting sun due to all the sunlight she took from working on the battle grounds, curves that made any woman envious, eyes that shone as brilliant as sapphires, and being six feet five inches- was made queen without marriage because of the tragic deaths of her parents nearly a fortnight ago from poisoning. Luckily, two children were born and could take the throne in place of the lack of heirs from other families who could be deemed fit to take the seats of King and Queen of Angora.

Queen Cole rose from her kneeled position and took back her sword made with a dragon claw. Princess Lula- also a blonde but with a cinnamon tone to her pale skin and five feet nine inches- rose as well and took her place at the throne the last queen held.

Queen Cole stood in front of all the soldiers, knights, dragons, and citizens not in battle. Looking upon all of them though, she saw how proud they were of her choice in taking the seat her father held with his fists of dragon bone and the gentleness of a just and fair king. Every one of the people of Angora had seen both princesses advance like none other. Princess Cole dressed to become a knight exactly like her father- tp rule over her subjects with the will of a dragon. Princess Lula chose to follow their mother’s suit and rile with the gentleness of the earth.

Both princesses were the joy of the kingdom. They however, were as different from each other as fire and water. Where one was hot tempered, the other was solid and calm as the land. Both brought joy to the people when they vowed to do all they could to stop the wars, bit they became the pride when they continued to destroy the monstrosity: Prince Jogan and the Feelon Kingdom because of its strange and unusually disgusting ways.

Queen Cole looked over her subjects and with a booming voice that rang to every ear, yelled, “This was has caused many lives, both human and dragon alike. When we win- and I assure you, we will- we will be considered the strongest of all kingdoms and all will FEAR US! Let them not glance at us and think they are greater for WE are true champions and will show that all who oppose us will feel our WRATH! I will fight until my end and I WILL make sure that when the sand of time has run out, and the bones of the great and mighty dragons has broken- we will still be thought of with wonder and awe for our achievements. So join me! Both people of the land and creatures of the air- and I will give you the peace that we deserve and for the victory our forefathers and foremothers have died to strive for!

“I give to you! My people! My friends! My family of both blood and war! I give to you myself; my strength; my power- to lead you to victory! As queen, I will not rest until we have accomplished out goal and have conquered EVERYTHING that keeps us from our true purpose in life! WE will move forward with our heads held high, even through this wave of sadness after having lost our greatest leaders: King Asolfur! Son of King Pel and Queen Alla- brother of Prince Chard and Princess Liya. Queen Tania! Daughter of Lord Gallah and Lady Dia of the Faellah Kingdom and successor of its throne! Let their spirits, their names, and the names of your friends and family ring when we give our call of victory! For WE SHAL WIN!

Queen Cole smiled at the wild roars of the dragons that had landed and the shouts of happiness of the people of Angora.

Walking back to her younger sister who is five years younger- making her 16, Cole saw the smile upon her young sister’s face and saw all the joy that Cole would ever need reflected in her emerald green eyes.

“You did wonderful,” came the whispered comment of the younger princess once Cole had sat down.

“Thank you Lula. Hearing that from you makes me happy.”

“It should,” came a smug reply.

“You and your smugness. You will make any man happy dear sister. It’s a surprise you have not chosen a husband from all the awaiting young men of both nobility and fighters. you know very well that any one of them could support you and have wonderful blood lines to give you children you could be proud of. I know very well that none of them would ever do you wrong and would care for you the same way you have cared for the people of Angora.”

“ I know. But I don’t feel in the mood to get married. No! Don’t disrupt me! I know what you are going to say ‘But sister! What if I die? What if you die? The royal blood of our ancestors would have been cut and there would be no successors worthy of the position to take care of Angora the way our family has for many millennia!’

“Besides, what is being a princess and married if you can’t be queen- no offense meant, I don’t ever want to be the core ruler. Now that we are on the subject, why will you not be king? Three generations before, a princess was made king and she was just as great and powerful as you are.”

“I don’t know really. I believe I just want to be reminded as more like mother’s gentle ways instead of father’s brute strength that every human has admired. I believe though, that once this battle is won and we control the second strongest kingdom, I will become king- and you my sister will become queen. You will over-see whichever land you want. Though, I do wish to have control over Feelon. I want to fix the disease that rules over them all and prove to the dragons that our blood does ring like theirs as was prophesized nearly three millennia ago. I want that honor bestowed upon us before I ever choose a husband. I want this honor so that should you ever have children, and I do not, they will be proud to be a part of this family and they will not need to be ruthless like a barbarian in order to keep justice to the land. I want our heirs to be as gentle as you, and as calculating and filled with ancient wisdom like our mother. I don’t want our heirs to keep fighting if it can be stopped. I will make sure of that before I take a husband and settle down. Though, there will have to be some things that still require a monster- as in ‘you know where’.”

Both sisters gave sly smiles before breaking into giggles.

Later that night, after having partaking of the feast in honor of the late King and Queen of Angora, and the succession of Princess Cole to Angora’s throne as queen and Princess Lula’s succession to last heir in Queen Cole’s sickness of death.

Cole returned to her bedroom in the tower in the south wall of the castle, where from there, she could over-look the Nyfer River and the boulders that encased a sleeping dragon that no one dared awake in case of revealing its horrible and terrible power that was sucked by the stones to the river to create its pure and fresh supply of water. Every sunrise, the water would glow with dragon’s fire that purified all that tainted it.

What is Jogan doing right now? Asked a very small voice very deeply hidden in the back of Cole’s brain. Obviously, responded the booming voice that shattered all doubts, he is n bed with a man, most likely for a while now since it is known that he sleeps early if he can manage it.

A/N: So! What do you think about this? Does it suck for a first chapter? If so, what are your opinions on what should be fixed and all? I hope somebody out there likes it or this will be another failure down the drain. I want honest reviews from everyone who reads this or it is just going to be very sad. If you review me, I review you. I always do that to those who even leave me a hint as to who they are. Well, I hope to see reviews from this story!
