Part Two.
Sammy Arcadipane
-2002-
Don't cry, little brother. Let me tell you a story. Let me make it all better for you. This is the story of Cammo Man, a hero to all he met. He protects and defends the innocent and fights for what is right in his heart. His story isn't long, and it's not detailed, but it doesn't need to be. You see, Grady, it speaks for itself. It doesn't need to be more than it is.
Cammo Man left his wife and sons in order to do his job. He flew across the ocean, where they needed him the most. He worked alone; he preferred it that way. No matter how much help he needed, he always refused. Stubborn as a bull, his wife always used to say.
One day, someone called for backup in the middle of a forest. Cammo Man quickly responded, and was met by an army of villains, all trying their hardest to take his life. They were moving in quickly on a tiny town, prepared to kill the inhabitants.
Cammo Man and the few people who had called for help managed to ward off the villains, much to their dismay. The town was saved. Cammo Man stayed for the celebration afterwards, but as he returned home, one of the villains took him by surprise. Cammo Man was killed, but not before saving hundreds of people.
Don't cry, Grady. He may be buried, but he's not gone. He's still in your heart and in your head as a hero, as the man who raised you. Don't you ever forget that. Never.
Dad. You've left large footprints to fill, and I don't know if I can fill them properly. I keep expecting you to walk through the door with gifts in your arms, smiling as we get to spend another day with you. But you won't. I know you won't.
I'll get them, Dad. I'll get those bastards that did this to you. They won't know what hit them. They will know what it feels like to die slowly. They will feel everything you did.
I know we will meet again, Dad. Whether it's when I'm twenty-one or eighty-one is yet to be determined.
