“Hephaestus’ Last Words”

What is in this vase, made out of clay?

The destruction and downfall of mankind

Given to a child as a thing of play

To wreak havoc upon the human mind.

And he saith unto her, “Open it not,”

For years and years Quantum Daimon remained

Sealed shut inside that ceramic vase.

The child grew up and never lost

Possession of the forbidden case

And he saith unto her, “Open it not,”

Yet endowed with curiosity,

She released the Daimon monstrosity.

Anguish and pain, sorrowful woes

Escaped for all the world to know.

Though he saith unto her, “Open it not,”

Filled with a grim and fatal surprise

She shut the lid with Hope still inside.

Mankind’s last chance, gone forevermore,

Waiting for someone to open its door.

Yet he saith unto her, “Open it not,”
