Weekends are for the warriors
All those late nights walking through front doors at daybreak
Raise all, of the glasses high
This one's to all of us sitting around here on Friday night
Eighteen
Hated Mondays
And siiting and staring at the clock dying to get away
Don't look back
Have no regrets
We only got two days and time won't wait for us

The weekend was finally here.

No more teachers for two full days.

Sadly it doesn't seem so great.

Especially when your best friend is miles away.

Trust me, if it weren't for the fact that my best friend was on the other side of the country, I'd be thrilled.

Speaking of which, my mother said that there was a surprise waiting for me in the living room.

Good thing I'm already on my way home.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself.

I'm Lauren Michelle Davies.

You might also know me as the girl with practically no friends.

I couldn't ask for a better place to be

I took a deep breath and opened the front door.

My eyes widened in surprise when I saw who was sitting on the living room couch with a huge grin on his face.

Trevor James Manson.

He stood up from the couch.

I ran to him and gave him a big hug.

His arms wrapped around my waist as he whispered in my ear, "I missed you, Lauren."

I replied, "I missed you too."

He smiled, "That's good. I flew across the country to see you. It would stink if you didn't miss me."

I laughed, "Why wouldn't I miss you? You're practically my only friend."

He frowned, "You haven't made any new friends since I moved."

I shook my head, "And all the ones I had while you still lived here ditched me. Apparently they only wanted to get to you."

He sighed, "I'll kick their asses."

I chuckled, "You don't have to do that."

He replied, "Yes I do, nobody except me is allowed to make you feel bad."

I scoffed, "I hate you."

He responded, "You love me."

Why does he have to be right about everything?

I've been to hell and back
All the snow storms
And the bathroom stalls which you pulled me out of
I'll be there
Like you've been there
My word's my bond
Don't stand alone, you can count on me

I couldn't ask for a better place to be

It was Saturday night.

The two of us were on the roof of my house looking up at the sky.

I spoke up, "Why'd you move?"

Trevor replied, "It wasn't my choice to make, you know that."

I sighed, "I know. It just sucks that I can't see you everyday anymore."

He responded, "I know exactly how you feel."

I lay my head on his chest knowing that this was probably the only chance I'd ever have to be this close to him.

We'll fight this fight to stay free
And never say 'never'
If you leave this choice up to me
I'll stay young (stay young) forever

Trevor's Point of View

I looked at the beautiful girl laying her head on my chest.

I thought of how she still had no idea of what my feelings for her actually were.

It pained me to see her cry, it hurt even more knowing that I was the cause.

I kissed her forehead.

I mumbled the words, "I love you."

I just wish she knew how true those words were.

xxxxxxThe Next Dayxxxxxx

I woke up at the sound of my alarm.

I guess I had forgotten to turn it off before I went to bed.

I had a long day ahead of me.

Today was the day that Trevor would find out how I felt about him.

I knocked on the door of the guest bedroom.

Trevor came out of the room and asked, "Wanna hang out tonight

I nodded my head in response.

xxxxxxA Few Hours Laterxxxxxx

Trevor called, "Hurry up!"

I yelled back, "I'm almost ready."

I quickly applied my make-up and headed downstairs.

Trevor's Point of View

I looked at the girl that had just come down the stairs.

She was dressed in a black strapless dress that went down just past her knees.

The dress made her look absolutely breathtaking.

The make-up she was wearing only made her look even more beautiful.

I resisted the urge to kiss her and whispered in her ear, "You look amazing."

She replied, "You don't look so bad yourself."

She led me towards her car and handed me her car keys and said, "You can drive it."

Just so you know, she doesn't let anyone other than me drive it.

I parked in front of this fancy restaurant that was located a few miles away.

The person at the podium asked, "Do you have a reservation?"

I nodded, "It's under Manson."

He smiled and said, "Right this way, sir."

We followed him to our table and he gave us our menus.

A few minutes later somebody else came to ask us what we wanted to drink.

After that, that same person came back again and took our orders.

xxxxxxAfter Dinnerxxxxxx

Lauren said, "I'm stuffed."

I replied, "Me too."

I looked down at my hands and noticed that I had been clenching my fists for awhile, probably because the guy sitting at the table next to ours was checking her out.

I hesitated before saying, "There's something else that I have to tell you."

She asked, "What is it?"

I whispered in her ear, "I love you."

She just sat there, saying nothing.

I drove us back to her house after I had paid the check.

I took a deep breath and said, "You know if you don't feel the same way, just say it. I won't get mad. I'll be a little upset, but I won't be mad at you."

She looked me in the eye and said, "How can you love me? We haven't seen each other for years."

I chortled, "I know that. I just can't help but feel this way. I get jealous whenever I see another guy's arm wrapped around you or when you're kissing another guy."

She replied, "Then how do you know you're in love? If it was love you wouldn't have to worry about losing me."

I responded, "I fucking know that! Dammit! I know that I'll always get the best of you, but I want the rest of you too."

It started to rain.

She stayed silent.

I wrapped my arms around her waist.

I muttered, "I'll just leave you alone then. You don't seem to feel the same way about me anyway. I guess coming all the way here just to tell you that was a mistake."

I let go of her and started heading towards the front door when I heard her yell, "Don't go!"

I yelled back, "Why not?"

She ran up to me and said, "Because I love you."

She wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her lips against mine.

I smiled to myself and wrapped my arms around her waist.

I finally have her all to myself.

I pulled away from her and smiled, "Guess what?"

She asked me with a questioning look in her eye, "What?"

My grin grew as I said, "My family's moving back here."

Author's Note: I do not own the song "Weeekend Warriors" - that song belongs to the band A Change of Pace. It inspired me to write this story. Should this stay a one-shot or not?
