A/N: No, the girl in the poem isn't me. :) Please review! This poem was originally written in English.

Many thanks to Damien for his help with the ending. ;P

---------------------------

She called for him

He faded away

Her lonely heart

Betrayed

Hope reborn

In a glance gone astray

Then taken back in the cruelest way:

Reflection of a heart made of stone.

And her eyes soon filled with stars

That dropped steadily on her lap without a sound

Where she held them

As reminders of her humanity-

Intact from outsiders

Still

Intact from him

-Self-protection mechanism-

Then, “You left me”

She said

And time sped up

From his thin lips dripping contempt

Bringing forth a reality,

A palpable reality,

“So I did,”

Now, there, here, then.

She didn’t wave

He didn’t turn

She got dizzy

He got brave

And he laughed

He laughed

A hollow sound,

A game

With a pawn

And a touch of pain.

-------------------------

Years

After the last Goodbye

She did it:

One thing right.

She loved again,

Her stars now washed away.
