Our Time Now

Asking me out was really brave on his half I’ll give him that. I know why I said yes, even if my friends thought I didn’t really mean it. He was funny, sweet, and plus he gave me to die for pointers at Mario Forever. Tell me; was there anything not to love? According to our friends, apparently so.

There will be no rules tonight

If there were we’d break em

So he wasn’t the cutest guy I had ever met. Apparently I was “too pretty” to be wasted on his. What are my friends smoking?! His friends have told him he doesn’t have to “waste his time” on me when I’m just gonna break his heart later. I think they’ve got it all wrong.

Nothing’s gonna stop us now

Let’s get down to it

Okay, you got us our first date wasn’t that amazing. Like it would be if all of your friends stalked you there, just waiting for something bad to happen so they could spring into action. He spilled his popcorn almost as soon as we sat down and I laughed so hard he laughed too. Our hands touched for a moment as I aimlessly looked for the arm rest. I blushed a bit and pulled my hand away, he just gave me an adorable smile.

Nervous hands and anxious smiles

I can feel you breathing

This is right where we belong

It’s been a week or two since then and people have seemed to let it go. Occasionally I’ll hear a little tidbit about how I was throwing all my social status away for this boy. I just shook my head, and turned on my Ipod. I might have been throwing away a social standing, I remember thinking, but I was gaining something so much more.

Turn up the music

Uh oh oh oh oh

We had survived though. Middle school was a pain in the ass though. Drama was intense and everyone loved it that way. Eventually two or three of my friends didn’t mind him at all. They found him as funny as I did. His friends even started to like me too. I just wondered what would happen next. But of course I should live for the present right?

This dance is for all the lovers

Taking a chance for one another

Finally it’s our time now

Freshman year was really exciting, having a boyfriend for over a year now, and still smiling every time I thought of his name. Homecoming as a big shocker though. He asked me to his and when I had gone to ask him to mine, the Homecoming committee had decided that only boys from certain private schools could be invited as dates. My public school boyfriend wasn’t allowed to go. I made sure to wear my prettier dress during his Homecoming.

These are the times that we’ll remember

Breaking the city’s heart together

Finally it’s our time now

That summer we didn’t spend a lot of time together put aside two or three weeks. We both did and counseled camps, but when we were together we would usually go to the beach and just hang out, sometimes meeting our friends and sometimes they wouldn’t show. But for the most part we were okay with that.

This is more than just romance

Its an endless summer

I can feel the butterflies

Leading me through it

By junior year, when we were still together my friend claimed I was in love. They thought that was the only possible reason we were still together. There could be no other way. Maybe they were right now once.

Take my heart I’ll take your hand

As were falling under

Senior year was actually a shocker to me that we were still together. I mean he had changed a lot. One of those he leaves dorky and comes back the next school year amazingly good looking, except for the fact I really didn’t notice the change since I had been with him a lot. Now he had ridiculously pretty girls drooling all over him and yet he still wanted to be with me. How odd.

This is an addiction girl

Lets give in to it

Uh oh oh oh oh

Prom was amazing though. There was no stupid private/public school rule so he could come too. When he came to pick me up, I sat at the top of my stairs and looked down. His tuxedo made him look more handsome than ever before, if that was even possible. He was talking to my parents, and my father, even being the hardass he is, couldn’t help but like him. I was glad. He said he had been scared to meet my parents cause he might have been shot by my dad. When I stepped down my cream dress flowing, I knew I had made a swell choice in a boyfriend.

Taking a chance for one another

Finally it’s our time now

When I met his sisters a week later I was very surprised how well they got to know me, especially the younger one, Lillian. Her brown hair matched her brother’s and you could tell she looked up to him. The older I guess making cookies with Lillian helped though. Please don’t mention the flour fight to her mother. We cleaned everything up. We promise.

Breaking the city’s heart together

Finally it’s our time now

Graduation will be sad, especially since we’re going to two different colleges but I’m not scared. Things are gonna happen just the way they’re supposed to. Hopefully.

Finally it’s our time now

Disclamer: I do not own Mario Forever or "Our Time Now" (by The Plain White T's). It's an amazing song though, go check it out.

I would really appreciate it if you would review! It only takes a second... : xoxo-Brie
