Maybe I should firstly tell you something about this thing... Well, all started because of one finnish word. That word was 'maailma', which means 'world', but actually is two words together: 'maa' and 'ilma', and they mean 'earth' and 'air'. So, I started thinking how unfair it is after all, for there is no water mentioned. Then my dear friend Wynn told me to write a poem about the unfairness of it all, and here it is, then, the 'song of justice' for sake of water and wetness!
Oh, How Unfair It Is After All
”Oh, how wrong it is – that finnish word
‘Maailma’ they say, world – meaning air and earth!
‘Maa’ and ‘ilma’ it is so wrong!
No! I wont stand this! So I wrote this song!
Well, if there is earth and air also
Combining that word I now hate so
There should also be waters, seas and lakes
Oh yes, this is something I wont just take!
‘Maa’ – the earth under my feet
And ‘ilma’ – the air I always breath
But there should be ‘vesi’, the water I long for
‘Maailmavesi’ – earth, air and water for more!
It is so unfair and I do not like it
How the word leaves water out so completely
And that is the reason for this song of justice
‘Maailmavesi’ – that is how it should be!”
