Chapter Thirty-Three-
Reggie woke with a start as she heard the doorbell ring. ‘They’re here!’ Throwing the covers off, she went barreling down the steps to see Trina and Jeremy standing the foyer.
“AH!” She screamed and went running toward Trina but stopped short when she saw the look of pure excitement on Jeremy and Trina’s face.
“What is going on?” She asked walking forward cautiously.
“Nice to see you too.” Trina laughed. Reggie grinned and hugged her redhead, now married friend.
“How was the honeymoon?” Reggie asked.
“And no icky sex life details.” Cate commented as she came barraling through the door with Aidan at her heals. She jumped on the back of Jeremy and grinned down at him.
“You sure are tall. I had a tough time getting up here. Anyway, Welcome back stranger.” She grinned down to Trina.
“I actually got some peace and quiet from you and Reggie though so It’s all good.” Trina laughed.
“I doubt it was all quiet.” Cate commented only to be smacked by Trina.
“What?! You know it’s true.”
“Cate shut up! Trina has something to tell us.” Reggie growled.
“You’re pregnant!” Cate announced randomly, taking an attempt to guess what she was going to tell them. Trina gaped up at her and Jeremy soon dropped her from his back.
“How did you guess?!” They both shouted. Reggie jumped in glee and Cate stood up, brushing herself off.
“I was grabbing at straws, you’re already married, and pregnancy is the thing that usually comes next.” Cate laughed. Reggie hugged Jeremy and Trina before jumping around some more.
“OH my gosh! I cannot believe it.”
“Why not?” Cate grinned. “You do realize they have been on their honeymoon for over what? Three months. It gives the perfect opportunity.”
“Opportunity to what?” Everyone turned to see Drew coming in the front door.
“To get pregnant.” Cate offered for him with a grin.
“You are nasty.” Reggie turned and grinned at the tall man next to her. Who turned to Trina and Jeremy, offering his congratulations.
“I get to be the godmother.” Cate announced moments later. Reggie turned swiftly toward her.
“Nuh uh! I get to! I’m older!”
“So I’m taller!”
“We’re the same height!”
“Fine I’m… wittier.”
“I’m … smarter!”
“Yea right! I’m crazier!”
“I’m quieter! More responsible!”
“ENOUGH!” Trina shouted at the two and shook her head with a small smile. “Boy have I missed you two.”
“We missed you too!” Reggie and Cate grinned and pulled Trina in a huge hug.
“But I still want to be a godmother!” Cate whined.
“You know, if you both keep arguing, I’ll just have Jeremy’s sister be the godmother.”
“Jeremy!” Reggie whined to the tall blonde who was talking with Aidan and Drew. Jeremy turned and looked at her with a questioning look.
“Make Trina let me be the godmother cause I’m your best friends Fiance!” Reggie whined heavily.
“SO! I’m engaged to his other best friend!”
“But I’m older!”
“ENOUGH!” Trina grabbed the two by the ears and started dragging them toward. “Cate in the corner to the left. Reggie in the corner to the right.”
“You can’t do that!”
“Yea! We’re old enough to take care of ourselves.” Cate agreed. Both of the two, with arms crossed and defiant expressions, stared down Trina. Who was not fazed at all by their act, they had perfected it to a tee.
“Well I am mentally and physically older and I’ve been your guardian for way too long. I swear, sometimes I still wonder how you two got along without me…” She muttered to herself.
“Well technically all we did was cause trouble, hate, decention, all that jazz.” Reggie grinned as a thought came to her. “You do know you will make an A-Mazing mom right?”
“I’d sure like to hope so.” Trina muttered, letting the slight blush creep up her face.
“OF COURSE YOU WILL!” Cate pulled her into another hug. “You took care of us from the age of high school and look how we turned out.”
Trina laughed and let a few ‘joyous’ tears fall from her eyes. “Aww! You guys are so nice!”
“Well duh! We’ve been trying to tell you that since when, Cate?” Reggie teased.
“Oh, I’d say a few years.” Cate added.
“Okay. I get it. I get it!” Trina then turned toward Reggie, “So the wedding is in a few days?”
“Yes.” Reggie looked behind her to look at the boys only to see they had left. “Where did-“
“It doesn’t matter. I want to see my dress and I want to catch up with you two. Come on.” Trina grabbed both their hands and led them up the stairs. Cate muttering the whole way, “Yes mother.”
“Who wouldn’t be, Trina? Weren’t you nervous?”
“Yes. For more than one reason. You guys were a big thought on my mind. Our Parents were so upset, part of the reason we took a LONG vacation.” Trina laughed. “But anyway, continue.”
“What if I’m more trouble then I’m worth though, Trina. He has had a hell of time chasing me, though I’d rather enjoyed it, but I’m not your average girl. He could have anyone in the world. His father doesn’t truly want to force him into a marriage. Why me, I ask a lot. I know, cheesy, stupid but it’s a question I ask.” Reggie muttered.
“Ahh! Reggie I think we all ask that question. I asked that question. Jeremy told me why. I’m not telling you what he said. That’s between him and I. But Reggie, I’ve seen the way Drew looks at you. I’ve seen the way he acts with you. He’d move heaven or hell for you. We all know it. Point is Reggie, when you ran, not away but ran, he did follow you. Doesn’t that just who how much he does love you?”
“Why do you have to make so much sense?” Reggie sighed, covering her face. “I feel so stupid.”
“Don’t worry. I am just a genius.”
“Modest too.” Cate commented.
“Watch it, my dearest. Aren’t you the one getting married next?”
“Yes.”
“You’ll go through the same thing.”
“…Okay.”
“Where’s the honeymoon, Reggie?” Trina asked, changing subjects.
“I don’t know. He wanted to surprise me.”
“hmmm.”
“Yea.”
“I can’t wait until you’re married Cate… I wonder who will get pregnant first between the two of you.” Trina pondered.
“TRINA!” Cate and Reggie both shouted at the giggling redhead before them.
“You look beautiful, Reg.” Cate grinned. Reggie only looked back in the mirror and sighed.
“Stop the self questioning. Get your butt movi-Oh! Mrs. Ross.” Trina turned toward the woman standing in the doorway. “We’ll meet you outside in five minutes Reggie or I’ll have Cate drag you up the alter. And I’ll get Ayden and Jeremy to help.” Reggie laughed softly as she watched her two best friends, or better, sisters walk out the door. Turning back to the mother of her soon-to-be husband, she looked to see tears forming in her eyes.
“Don’t cry Mrs. Ross or I’ll start blubbering and then I’ll get yelled at by Cate and Trina for messing up my makeup.” Reggie smiled weakly. Mrs. Ross sniffled before pulling Reggie into a hug.
“I’m glad my son chose you, Regina.” She whispered before turning around and wiping away the tears. “Now Let’s go. I want to see my son’s get married but another reason I came in here was to give you the wedding present from Michael and I.”
“But Caroline, shouldn’t you give it to both Drew and I?”
“No. We wanted to give it to you so that you can surprise Drew. I love to see Drew surprised. I love to see his father surprised.” She handed a folder over to Reggie. Inside was a beautiful picture of a gorgeous house. Not a mansion, but a vast size house that was magnificent.
“It’s your new home. We are having movers moving your stuff now, and will be ready for you by the time you arrive home from the honeymoon. I hear Trina, Jeremy, Cate, and Aidan are helping organize everything also.” Mrs. Ross smiled, her face glowing with happiness.
“Thank you. So much. For everything.” Reggie whispered.
“I know, Regina. Now I had better go. We don’t want Drew worrying do we?” She walked over to Reggie and kissed her cheek before walking out the door with a wink at her future daughter-in-law. Not moments later did Trina and Cate call her out.
“Are you ready, Reggie?” Cate asked as the music began to play.
“For anything and everything.”
“I think so. The question is, are you?” She teased while walking arm in arm with Drew toward the ball room where everyone was waiting. As they walked into the room cheers filled the room and whistles. Reggie laughed softly and looked up at her husband, noticing that he was watching her. His eyes were filled with love. Pure and simple as that and Reggie knew then everything would be okay.
Reggie was pulled into a wide hug by her cousin and kissed on the cheek.
“My little cousin dearest is finally married.” Mercutio teased, his face wide with a grin.
“Yes. I am.” Reggie tilted her head slightly and smiled, the famous smirk in her eyes.
“I’m so happy for you, Reggie! Ignore you’re annoying cousin!” Lia pulled her into a hug and held her hand when they separated.
“So where is the honeymoon?”
“I don’t know. It’s a surprise.” Reggie replied, still smiling.
“Oh. Interesting. Oh, there she is.” Lia muttered with a roll of her eyes until she caught onto something beyond Reggie’s shoulder.
“Who are you- Oh my god! Is that Bianca?!” Reggie questioned, her eyes on the figure with two guys sitting beside her, obviously flirting and laughing with her.
“Yes it is.” Lia gaped.
“I thought she sworn off guys!” Reggie gasped. “Who are those two?”
“You both finally married! I figured you would have taken a few more months.” Sherrie teased. Drew laughed and shook his head.
“I would have married her much sooner but there were complications.” Drew laughed and then turned to the man standing beside Sherri. He had dark hair and dark eyes, Japanese descent from what Drew could tell.
“Drew, this is Aki, my fiancé. Aki, this is a good friend of mine, Drew.” Sherri introduced with a huge grin on her face.
“It is a pleasure to meet you.” Aki replied, shaking hand with Drew. “And congratulations.”
“I wish. I feel like I’m the luckiest man in the world.” Drew laughed softly.
“Nah. You’re just have the worse luck. You’re stuck with me for the rest of your miserable life.” Reggie teased as she came walking up. Her eyes caught sight of Sherri and she practically screamed.
“Sherri!” Reggie was pulled into a hug and greeted.
“You made it!” Reggie grinned, pulling away.
“Of course. I had to make sure you hadn’t killed each other yet.” Sherri laughed and then introduced Aki to Reggie.
“Konichiwa. (sp?)” Reggie greeted.
“You know Japanese?” Aki asked, curiously.
“Nay. Though I do wish so. My friend is the bilingual one.” Reggie laughed.
“Well, we’ll catch you later. You have other people just waiting to speak to the happy couple.” Sherri hugged them both before following Aki.
“How is it going, Mr. Ross?” Reggie asked with a smile, putting her hand into his.
“Perfect.” He whispered, his head bent down to her ear. Reggie laughed softly before something caught her eye.
“Who are those two sitting with Bianca?” She asked quietly. Drew turned to where she was insinuating. As he caught sight of the two men sitting beside the petite woman, he laughed out loud.
“Those are my father’s cousin’s sons. My second Cousins. Danny and Tommy. The male versions of Cate.” Drew laughed.
“You’re joking! This is perfect.”
“What do you mean?”
“Bianca swore of men a year ago and hasn’t had one since so now that they are there…”
“I get your meaning. Now let’s go greet the rest of the possey. So then we can sneak off and leave.”
“To?”
“Ahh ahh ah. It’s a secret.” He put finger to his lips and smiled.
“Torturer.”
“We could play it that way.”
“Andrew!” She smacked his arm while hiding a smirk.
“I do hope you brought me my books.” Reggie muttered at the smug look gracing his face.
“Reggie, you won’t have time to read.”
“Oh? Are you so confident of your abilities?” Reggie teased, crossing her arms. Drew leaned over and whispered in her ears.
“Now? Yes.” And right below her ear, he placed a kiss, giving her goose bumps all down her back.
“But I still brought you a book or two for the plane ride back and forth.” He grinned pulling away.
“Goodie. Now can you tell me where we are going?”
“No can do.”
“Can you give me a hint?”
“It’s someplace secluded.”
“Oh that really helps.” Reggie muttered. Moments passed before Reggie finally felt slumber coming to take her. She turned over on the couch and put her head on his lap, looking up at him, she smiled.
“I love you, Mr. Andrew Ross.”
“I love you, Mrs. Andrew Ross.”
