Zoo Dream

I have a zoo dream
Where I am the cage that an animal hates
And I can’t open myself
For him to escape

But instead I rely
On a hand to turn a key in me
And my hostage imprisons us both
When he picks being fed over free

And he eats his escape away
He succumbs to them every night
As the hand turns back the lock
Freedom for us each is gone again
