Dweller of the Seas

”Under the waves, under the ocean

Under the deepest seas

Under the water’s silent motion

There the creature sleeps

His scales are silver and shining blue

And sparkle like steel in light

His eyes now closed but they open soon

And then they are dark as night

The creature of seas and ocean waves

Never shall walk on land

Fish-like body and flailing tails

No feet on which to stand

He lives in the seas and there shall die

For the creature of seas he is

Sea’s his home; with waves he can fly

No sunlight he can miss

So remember him on the ocean shore

For somewhere there he swims

And though forgotten now is his lore

Still under the waves he dwells

And under the waves, under the ocean

Under the deepest seas

Under the water’s silent motion

Forever the creature lives.”
