I say these things to make you believe,
But you throw me out to re-achieve
All these things that I have done,
To forget the past and carry on.
I can’t just stand here and say
All these feelings within a day,
That you’ve so carefully replaced,
So they wouldn’t be faced.

My heart says to learn from you,
To be a heartless and mean fool,
To guard my heart with all I have,
And not end up broken, empty, and sad.
You say you swore it was the right thing,
To hide and end up emotionally faking
To both yourself and to others,
And immense amount of useless covers
Swearing, smothering, and suffocating.
Stories swarm, carefully cremating
Everything you hold close and feel,
All at risk on this imaginary wheel.

A chewed up pen, forgotten,
A petal-less flower, beaten,
Still remains of this heartbroken glass,
That always seems to come in last.

And you tell me to face the world, re-achieve,
When all I want to do is make you believe
That there might be something worth living for,
If you would just wipe the mat and open the door.
It’ll come just as it promised.
Into your lap, it will have accomplished,
And you will see that your heart can be exposed,
And a beautiful cong will be composed.
If you would just open your heart,
The world just may not fall apart.
