Dropping Diamonds

You’re going way to fast

Would you slow down?

Hold me tighter now

Or I might slip through your fingers

You can hardly remember

That I’m in your hands

Taking me for granted

I’m worth more than you know

You won’t ever slow down

Until there’s nothing left

And your hands are empty

Or you have nowhere else to run

Stop running away from me

I can’t chase you anymore

You’re making me tired

I can only go so far

Don’t sell me out

Or forget why you need me

I wish you knew

No other gem loves you like I do

They can’t make a single scratch

No damage done to my love for you

So slow down or you’ll drop me

And someone else

will

pick

me

up
