Like, the song? I asked, tears forming in the corners of my eyes.

"No, even though the song is a lot like you," You smiled and I was overwhelmed. Soon, you'd be leaving, and there were still so many things I wanted to ask you. Like, what your blue-prints were for the perfect world. What you thought about before you went to sleep at night. Where you thought we went after we died.

Thanks, I guess, I nodded. Your eyes remind me of...

You chuckled. "You don't have to."

But I want to... Now shut up and lemme finish, I quipped. Your eyes remind me of a gallimaufry.

"You just now made that up," you accused, smiling. I liked your smile. It made me feel safe and loved, even though the love I felt wasn't exactly splooged in my general direction.

No, seriously, it's a word.

"What's it mean?"

Like, a jumbled mess of shit.

"Lovely."

I smiled, too, my world fleetingly painted in colour. It had been painted in greys for so long, it was nice just to stop and look.

"You know I love you, right?" You inquired.

It brought tears to my eyes. Just like Evergreen. Whenever you mention the song or the word, I immediately start bawling like the baby I am.

Even so, I just looked at you, our evergreen and gallimaufry eyes probing each other.

"I just... feel like I should remind you that you're my best friend."

It's a nice notion.

"Yeah... But... I don't know what I'd do if you left me, Rogelyn."

I don't know what I'd do if I left you, I said. You're my best friend, too. And I want us to stay like that. Like... Jesse and James.

"But Jesse is a bitch to James."

Yeah, but still. It's a nice thought.
