Allegro Days
To die when you are young
Is a dream of a dream
To blindly venture ahead
But to die when your old
Is not quite as bold
But the lifting veil instead
To die in your sleep
Is a precarious thing
To leap without knowing you leapt
And when asked how you died
You sadly replied, I do not know, I slept
To die in a war
With a cause at your back
And a thousand scars on your soul
Is noble indeed
But tell me the need
When, its your bullet hole
To die on a quest
An adventure of daring
To fell barely short of a dream
Is almost as sweet
As the honey dew lands
You never saw then,
but now see
The meter of life
Is an easy beat
Falling, this way and that
But when the tempo runs fast
And the crescendo is near
You will remember the Allegro days
