Feared Excitement

Began a forbidden journey

when you gently held my hand.

On you I have decided

and here I will always stand.

I want you and only you,

and only you forever.

You cut ties with morality

so we could be together.

You threw away the rule book,

burnt the scarce remains,

then pulled me tightly to your arms

and kicked away the sane.

I could never give you up

with the way you cherish me.

You risked your warped perfection

so we could always be.

Nothing will take me from you,

or move me from your sight.

No one can rip me from your grasp

because I’m holding just as tight.

I can face the netherworlds

when to you I am bound.

Of course with just one look from you,

you can bring me to the ground.

With all the people hassling us

it will be a bumpy ride,

but I know we can hack it;

we won’t have to hide.

Such a journey intimidates;

I hope you are prepared.

Just because I am excited,

doesn't mean that I’m not scared.

Family ties and friendships;

you'd think they would be clues

not to come between us,

not to make us choose.

What comforts me endlessly,

but scares me shitless, too,

is that in the end you’d choose me,

and I know I’d choose you.
