If I told you, yesterday you were better than this

You’d crumble

For all your epiphanies have led you nowhere

You still found home in a pipe

You still place things out of order

Life is out of order

And I love you

Yesterday you were better than this

Pretty dreams on balance beams

What will you have to say for yourself in the end?

Will you be able to applaud yourself?

And if not you, then who else

Funny thing about lives like yours

People come and go

Because you my dear were one in a million

And now my dear you’re replaceable

But I love you

Yesterday you were better than this

You stood with excellent posture and a bare face

You were beautiful

But the song lyrics running through your head will soon run out

And I fear you will have nothing left to say

I fear that such a lovely person

Will become unnoticed

When you my dear, were one in a million

And I love you.
