Time is running out.
The mighty river's flow is weakening.
The river is being dammed.
Seconds evaporate into hazy minutes.
Minutes torrent into hours and hours
(washing away the landscape; the scenery; the view)
and the hours pool into days;
days into weeks;
weeks into months;
months into years;
years into centuries;
centuries into millennia;
until the millennia hit the dam of humanity
(sucking the life out of the years, complaining about how it all goes by too fast)
and stop moving completely.
