Prologue:
The Goblin Chaos
A.N: This is my first story, and is meant to be the story to explain the creation of “The Blades of Arianth” in the series, "The Blades of Arianth", which I will be writing. This story is a precursor to the events in the series, so this story is stand-alone. So, I implore to check out the first chapter, the prologue, and review me, to tell me what you think of it, and what I can improve. Thank you for reading this.
“Damned goblin devils...always coming into this fair village, raiding it for all it's worth. It's time for me to take a stand!”
As the boy said that with a certain fervor and determination in his voice. This boy had a cross between brown and blond hair, making it to appear gold, especially when the sun hit it at just the right angle. At his side was a sword, currently in its sheath. The sheath itself was a dull brown. The handle of the sword itself was crudely fashioned, with it being built without a focus on comfort or usability, rather it just being built so he could hold the sword without cutting himself.
As the boy jumped off the fence post he was laying on, you could notice that he was wearing leather armor, under a torn, brown, cloth cloak. On the side reverse of his sword, the boy wore a brown pouch. It was the type used to hold coins. The boy was also wearing tan pants, and brown shoes.
If you looked at his build, he seems thin, but if you looked close, he appears to be of a slightly muscular build.
The boy heads south, down a dirt path that leads down to a small village. A first look at the village would make a common passerby to presume it had 100-250 people living in it, give or take 25. However, if he walked closer, he would realize that there was double the number of people that he had guessed before.
The reason for that is in the center of town is a academy, used to train potential special operation soldiers how to utilize abilities that all people had, but little people could actually make effective use of. Many people from across the land of Shidoken come to this village to test to see if they will admitted into the academy, and eventually merchants flocked here to sell things to the tourists.
As the boy entered the center of town, he read the sign. The sign read “Baransu Academy of Special Talents”. The boy, instead of entering the academy, went around it, and exited the town through the north exit.
“What's that?” asks the boy, meaning it as a question only he can hear, as he is currently alone.
The boy flings his head to the north, to see three green humanoids, with pointy ears, running down the hill. They were yelling something inaudible, but behind them was another humanoid, with golden armor, and a sword at his side. The other goblins were only wielding axes, and no shields. They were bare, with only cloth for protection. The boy recognized them as goblins.
“Finally, some Goblins to kill”, exclaims the boy as he draws his sword.
As the goblins get closer, the boy takes a fighting stance. One goblin gets close enough to swing his ax, and he does so. The boy easily parries the ax strike meant for his side, and lashes out into the goblin's abdomen. The goblin doesn't have time to react, and falls down onto the ground, and dies because of the loss of blood.
The next two goblins surround him, and both get ready to strike. Rather than parrying, the boy jumps when the goblins strike. They end up killing themselves.
As the boy lands, he looks at the goblin corpses.
“Now, you damned goblin soldiers, tell your ancestors in jigoku that you were slain by Gevan Arianth! I, Gevan Arianth, will destroy every last one of you!” Gevan looked at the remaining goblin, with great fury. He charged.
As Gevan tried to stab the remaining goblin, he easily parried, and attacked the side. Gevan didn't react fast enough, and got the wind knocked out of him. The only thing that saved him was his leather armor.
“And you tell your ancestors in jigoku that you were slain by Goren Humanbane!” the goblin roared with thunderous resolve. He then turned back into the mountains, and started walking back to his base.
Meanwhile, Gevan picked himself up, and, greatly wounded, walked back to Baransu Village, to get treated. He was cursing the goblins all the way.
