Rain falls down
Into upturned eyes
And it starts to look
Like I might just cry.

But I hold back tears,
Pretend there’s no sorrow
And pray to someone
That I live to tomorrow.

A twisted vision of
Heartbreak and more.
Twice-told tales of
Forgotten lore.

The princess in the story,
The one who dies,
Is my life lessons
Shown through dead eyes.

A couple of words.
You’re on your way.
Believing that I’ll be fine
Like I was yesterday.

But little do you know
The chaos in me
Is trying its best to
Break out and be free.

Words come out in a gush
And I don’t control
Whatever I say.
I just let it flow

The words are truth
Written in blood and ink
A harrowing tale
Attempting to get you to think.

Perhaps there’s more
To the story that you don’t know
And maybe it’s my fault
I don’t let it all show.

But somehow you have to
Put yourself in my shoes
And realize that by hiding
I have nothing to lose.

With eye upturned
Facing droplets of rain
I shut down and hold back
Any signs of my pain.

I act stronger than steel
And tough to the bone,
So I make sure my problems
Are mine alone.

I take up the sword
So that I can defend
Each and every
One of my friends.

If I didn’t, they might
Turn out just like me.
And that’s something
I never want to have to see.

So hold back your tears
Since there’s no cause for sorrow
And know that I’ll still
Be here for you tomorrow.

I may not be worthy
To save my own skin,
But I’ll keep you forever
Clean from my sin.
