Sunshine

Judy, 43, lay on the hospital bed breathing through a tube when her daughter Natalie and her husband Edward walked in.
Edward's eyes were hard to read. " They said you can... go... any minute." he said.
Judy smiled at him. Ed doesn't care if she lives or dies; he's been having an affair with his co-worker, Chasity. This'll be a bright future for him. Judy laughed in her head, since laughing out loud risked her life.
They were right, she thought, when they said "tell death do us apart" was setting a goal.
Though, she knew better not to blame him for the cancer. No one was to blame except the devil for making such a horrible way to die. Judy's auburn haired, honey eyed, daughter walked over to her mother till she was next to the bed and holding her mother's hand.
" Mom. I'm going to miss you so much..." she started to cry.
Judy smile with what energy she had. " Be strong, Wild Flower." Judy whispered. " Not even gold lasts forever."
Natalie nodded, " I'm going to miss you.."
" Why?" Judy said, her voice hoarse. " I'll always be with you."
Natalie stomped, " They always say that! Mom, it's not like another Halmark channel- this is real."
Judy tried to nod but failed, " Nat. You will grow into a remarkable woman. My, you're already pretty." Judy motioned for Natalie to get into whispering distance, " Just don't tell your father where you got the beauty and brains from because he'll lie through his teeth."
Natalie laughed, " You're so cool! Promise you'll come when I call for you."
Judy smiled, " Yes. And I'll write to you everyday. And I'll spy on your boyfriend to see if he's cheating on you."
" I have a crush on Jeremy but I don't have a boyfriend!" Natalie said.
" You will. And you'll love him. Like I love Nicholas."
" Oh, mom. Nicholas is dead. Remember?" said Nat. Suddenly something in her clicked, as if she finally understood.
Judy barely nodded, " Uhuh."
Edward caught nearly everything and felt a bit jealous, " Why don't we exchange our vows while we're here?" he said sarcastically.
Nat laughed and Judy smiled.
" Take care of him." Judy said to Natalie who nodded.
After a tremendous amount of hugs and kisses were shared, they left. Five minutes later, Emily and her son came in the room.
" Oh you poor thing!" Emily said, actually achieving the Irish accent after spending three years there.
" Mom, she's all raisan looking." Emily's son said in disgust.
Emily slapped him up-side the head, " Jeremy Daniel Boyle, you better apologize, lad! Or I'll break your leg if you be sayin' dem words again."
" Sorry, mah-der." he said, Irish leaking out of his ears.
Judy attempted a shrug," Emi, you'll be seeing Daniel soon, too."
" Oh, that's if he remembers me." Emily said, " Tis a bit fun, doh. Jeremy's fahder always had something bad happening to him that I couldn't help but laugh."
Emily divorce Jeremy's father seven years ago, after she found a string-like underwear in the hamper that wasn't hers.
" I'm glad your happy." Judy said, " Nick and I will drop by every-so often. You'll know it's me when a cloud in the sky spells out something only you would know would be me."
Emily agreed, " Den, when our son marries off with Natalie-"
"- Mom! What if she doesn't like me? You know how shy I am around her..."
"-Not now, lad. When my son marries off with Natalie, and I shrivle up like you, then I'll join you. But you must wait for me."
" Ha, shrivle up, hu? Wait until I'm dead missy." Judy threatened
" That's right, I'd still see you. Unless you go with Nicholas and wait in heaven for me insted."
Judy smiled, " The Golden Gates. Hands down. Sorry Emily, but you'll have to wait."
" We'll be together again, lassie." Emily smiled wide, " But now you just be leaving a simple vessel. The soul is dee important part."
" And love!" said Jeremy.
" That comes with the soul." Emily and Judy unisoned. A memory hit them, about sitting on Nicholas's carraige and annoying the heck out of him this saying everything together and the girls giggled a bit.
" We better be on our way now, Judy." Emily said, motioning Jeremy to the door.
Jeremy waved goodbye, " I'll join you in a hundred years!"
Emily pushed him out of the room, " You won't make it past 15 if you don't march out of dis room, lad!"
Judy was left alone in the room. She turned to the sun shining through the window.
" Not entirely alone." she said, feeling the sun cup her hands into his.
She smiled at the thin air," Long time not see."
Judy smiled even wider when the warmth of the sun touched her forehead. " I love you, Nicholas Grean." She said as she closed her eyes one last time.
Nicholas smiled back, " I love you, too."

The End

Technically, this isn't "The End" because all of them except the stupid evil bastrd cheating husband Edward, lives happily ever after.

P.S.

Emily walked out with Jeremy and Natalie who passed romantic glances at each other.
"Look up there!" Edward said, pointing to the sky.
Emily looked up and written into the sky with clouds used as it's ink were the words:

Not so bad Will save a spot Dan says Hi

Emily laughed up at the sky and shouted to Judy, " Myspace me, ok?!"
