And All The Lovely Creatures
serpentynepearl

one: goose poop

There once was a girl named Gina. She had short hair, was often mistaken for a boy, and very unwillingly androgynous. Many girls thought she was cute, and there was even a girl named Nancy who thought that the two of them should have a "torrid affair." Gina was very horrified. She was also very sad.

Gina had to walk home from school everyday; she didn't mind, really, and didn't accept rides from anyone unless it was snowing or really cold or bad weather or something, just because she liked walking.

What Gina really disliked, though, was that when she walked home in the spring and the fall, was the poop.

Yes, poop. There was poop everywhere, as far as the eye could see. Poop poop poop.

Poop on the sidewalk. Poop on the grass. Poop on the gravel on the ugly little pathway made for the bulldozers. Poop.

Where did all this poop come from?

Well, certainly not the people. The people pooped in funny little white basins that went "whoosh!" when a little lever was pushed and water went around inside. They were civilized enough that they even had special little rooms inside special rooms to poop in.

The geese, however, weren't civilized beings at all. Sure, they could organize their winter vacations better than anyone else could, but they did their business everywhere. On the roof, on people's cars, and well, as you can guess, on Gina's way home.

So Gina was walking home, and as she looked down the long road home, she saw bits and patches of gray sidewalk. The path itself was mostly green, and looked quite squishy.

"Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew..." The mantra Gina muttered was quite simple as she tiptoed her way home.

A goose honked at her.

Gina glared at the goose.

The goose turned away.

"Pooper."

A/N: According to my friend Roy, the word “poop” is used 13 times. Nancy, on the other hand, is at a loss for words. Heh.
