I AM THE ALL-POWERFUL CREATOR! BOW BEFORE ME, FOOLISH MORTALS!

... Only kidding. Had you for a minute though.

Hello and welcome to all! I am the Creator of Reality One, the first of ten realities to be created (some more inadvertently than others) from the minds of ten individuals. We are -mostly- ordinary mortal creatures (which makes each Reality finite) except that our minds give us the power to create and destroy, and to transport ourselves and others to any place we choose across the ever-widening plains of space and time. I am the first and youngest of the Creators.

Just because i created a Reality however doesn't mean i can do whatever i like. A group of neutral higher-beings formed 'The Council' and took it upon themselves to decide when a Reality no longer warrants existence or when a Creator becomes too bias or attached and deserves punishment. Creators have almost free reign over their Realities, but we do not belong there, and as such we cannot live there or become too involved with its inhabitants.

Each of the ten realities are unique. Reality Three was created by the ancient so-called 'King' of the vampires, who would not accept the truce with humans, and created a dense ever-dark urban jungle where humans are raised and hunted for meat. It is the only place in the known universe where the vampire-human truce is not recognised.

Reality Five is a planet covered in water with a few islands dotted across is impeccably blue surface. It is inhabited by many marine races, and is a sanctuary for rare marine life throughout the universe.

Reality Ten is a retirement home for soccer players.

Ahem But Reality One is the most celebrated and well-known. It is, I'll admit, not the best looking Reality ever created, as it is essentially just a big black box floating in deep space somewhere. Inside are a few large black or white buildings, and a deep forest of tall trees stretching up its western side. It is however interconnected with many many other realities and planets through it's natural affiliation with portals. Creating portals to other realms is difficult at best, but Reality One makes it much easier, and many have developed over time, the most noted being one created by a half-wolf alpha-leader several years ago that leads to a sacred and ancient wolf worship site, where Reality One's half-wolves go to celebrate the full-moon.

I control everything in Reality One. There, I am omnipresent; aware of everything. It is, however, my subconscious that maintains the Reality, so though I have whatever conscious control of it I please- from who gets pregnant and what sex the baby is, to influencing the minds and decisions of its inhabitants- most of the time I don't purposefully choose the events that occur, and I like it that way; it keeps life interesting. ...But, also i can't be held accountable if something really bad happens, which is always a good thing really, eh-heh sweat drops

The inhabitants of Reality One are hand chosen by myself to live there (except for the family of foxes in the western wood; I created them myself, though somewhat by accident). My mind tends to wander through realities, and when i see someone i like, i have them officially invited to join my Reality. I can't say how the selection process goes in the other ten realities, but i imagine it is much the same. I collect a list of names and give them to Quinn (my first invite-ee and keeper of Reality One's 'Eternity') and he sends hand-written letter-invites to them, also telling them a little about the Reality. They are chosen by me and for my own reasons; no one in Reality One can say exactly why they were chosen.

This story is part of the 'Eternity' of Reality One (the record of events from it's creation to it's destruction) cut down and re-written as an entertainment form. Because I am so young, you may wonder what could have possibly happened in this short time to warrant a novel, but let me tell you this: Time moves differently in other realities. Perhaps fifty years elapsed in Reality One as I made the transition from child to teen, with time slowing down or speeding up when i wished it to (it's inhabitants being unaware of the changes). I will spare you the details of it's dull fledgling years in my childhood, and skip straight to my adolescence -I was about ten years old I believe- when much more interesting things started to happen...

Reality One is famous for it's musicians, it's artists, it's brilliant minds, and above all it's complete racial tolerance. It is a utopia. It's people have no need for money, medical knowledge from far far in the future has assured against almost every disease known to man, and advanced technology provides security and makes life easier.

The setting is ideal, peace should come naturally, but trouble can erupt even in paradise.

For as we know, it is not our surroundings which determine our fate;

It is ourselves...
