Prologue
Wanted. A criminal, hunted by her people; Risika was her name. Risika Iyoki. First class criminal, she wasn’t hunted very much; there were so many more criminals who were worth more than her. Either way, she was only sought out by those from her home, or allies of the country that also wished to cash in. The rest of the world could have cared less. ‘Oh, killing your own people? Please, help yourself, we’ve been trying to kill you guys for ages,’ was basically what the world chimed at her. Though she was a first class criminal, she still managed to stay as low as a third class criminal, almost barely known. What made her a first class criminal was her strength, the training she had received, and her skill. The crime that she had committed barely ranked above the third rank. Her crime? She was wanted for the murder of five 17 year-old trainees of the academy; the crime had been committed 3 years ago, and she was now 20, quite far out of reach of the hunters.
Risika now wandered as an assassin for hire. Taking jobs and completing them to the best of her ability, always managing to escape, and never failing a mission, even when tricked into predicaments some would call impossible. If she was heard of, she was known as the ‘Siren of Nighthaven’, all the civilians of Nighthaven remembered her by it. Trained by the criminal leader of their town, she was known as his masterpiece, to him, she was like the Sistine Chapel was to Michelangelo.
Malrion, the leader of their town, had become the enemy of all other towns, their town was now looked upon as a hostile force against all others since his reign began, and yet he managed to keep the best defense for the people. Not long before Risika had her incident, a new favorite was found by Malrion, and Risika had been thrown into the trash, like an old fashion. Until she had been thrown into the trash, no one had dared to mess with her. One night, her family had been slaughtered, leaving her as the lone heiress, the lone survivor of the Iyoki family. A week later, 5 murders had been committed, the death of fellow students at the academy of Nighthaven. After that, she had never looked back to the village.
Until the day of the murder, she had been a very winsome girl, almost admired by people for her friendliness and abilities to catch people and make them new friends, and now she was a loner, and though friendly, and slightly cheerful still, almost like a housewife, she never stuck with people. She may have been very pleasant, obedient, and polite, but she had the attitude of a butcher knife if handled the wrong way. Now as a wanderer, she traveled from town to town, taking mission after mission while attempting to hunt the man, the beast, that slaughtered her family.
Oh, yeah. Totally. Illusia is writing a new story, why? I’m stuck on Luscious Lies, and I couldn’t pass this idea up. Seriously…
