“Haunting Memory”

I’ve shattered my soul,
torn it to shreds like you did my heart.
I’m broken entirely now.

Are you happy?

Should you be?

I lie down and wait for the end
because it doesn’t matter any more.
I’m not sure it ever did.

Just leave me to rot;

I know you want to.

I’ve fractured my soul,
stabbed it until it fell to pieces, a thousand tiny shards,
each one mirroring one fragment of my heart.

You haunt me.

Go away.

I’m waiting to die,
not killing myself, just waiting life out
because I can’t wait you out.

I waited for you;

I loved you.

I waste away, my soul fades
and my body dies.
But my love for you remains strong.

Why won’t your memory leave me

The way you did?
